What type cover/diaper is the coolest?

....Temperature I mean. I am a fleece lover for covers and have heard since they are more breathable they are cooler to wear than pul. I am getting skeptical of that as they seem so hot and would love to hear any and all opinions.

It is already getting warm here especially for my hot-natured little fatty so I am thinking of summer for her. I am planning on letting her go coverless a lot but for when I can't I'd like her to be as cool as possible.

Also, the big synthetic vs natural debete. When the baby would be likely sweating in the dipe, I am guessing natural fabric is best against the skin (I prefer it myself, so I suppose she would.) But if you did have a stay-dry liner/inner what is the coolest option, microfleece, suedecloth etc.

I think coolest would be to go without a cover. Next coolest would be any type of fabric, knitted, or fleece. Anything plastic, vinyl, or PUL is going to be sweatier.

were going to do wool shorties with a fitted this summer.

Against skin, for a doubler/liner or dipe, I'd go with hemp or cotten prefolds or flats (sometimes I've found fitteds, even with natural fibers, you get sweat around leg/belly openings).

I'd also choose wool for covers - though some thinner other covers (like bumkins and imse vimse) don't seem to hold heat as much as others, too.

Natural fibers all the way... cotton, hemp, wool. Always going to be cooler than synthetics.

Use wool!

We were in Texas and our baby was having seizures due to the heat.

Wool and a flat were the best for her. Although, when it would get to 105 we would have her in just the dipe.

It's pretty funny if you haven't used wool before. You get a little surprise the first time you change a wet diaper and find a cool bum. It seems strange, but wool really does breathe better than anything else. My favorite on a hot day is a wool crochet soaker. The large holes let the air through, but the large amount of yarn keeps the moisture in.
