breast pain

I am currently experiencing a pain i have never felt before. it feels like my areola is bruised, but i can't see anything unusual.Additionally, it feels feverish, warm to the touch. latch is painful, but not awful.

any ideas

i guess i figured it'd not mastitis because I don't have a fever, just my boob feels achy and warm, there's nothing blocked that i can feel or see
is there anything else it might be?

It could be cellulitis (a local infection of the tissue) - did you get bitten? Or have a crack?

It also could be an abscess underneath - but you would probably be able to feel that lump.

The warmth and pain are worrying - usually signs of an infection.

Hopefully someone else will have some ideas, or have BTDT.

ds bites occasionally, but not recently that i remember. I had a plugged duct on the same side a couple weeks ago, but i thought it had resolved. I just don't know, nothing looks wrong at all but it just doesn't feel right
