So af was due Monday. Monday no af and a bfn. Tuesday no af and bfn. Wednesday no af and bfn. Wednesday evening spotting. Late Wednesday night heavy flow and terrible cramps. Thursday heavy flow and terrible cramps. Thursday night spotting. This morning spoting. Now nada.. nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nine. And a BFN. Granted not 1st morning pee but a big fat def neg! Ugh grrrr.... what is this... less than 24hrs of a heavy flow which started out and ended with light spotting. There was no in b etween only light spotting HEAVY FLOW light spotting.

Any ideas?

That's what I think... but has me very worried. I've never ever had a period like that ever on or off bc EXCEPT when I was pg with my dd and had my period for 3 months before we found out we were pg with dd. Docs didn't believe me that she was concieved in dec but amneo later on proved that she was concieved in dec and that I had af for 3 months. But what worries me is that mirena messed with my cycles and this is going to make it very hard to ttc.

sara me and you have had a crazy similar TTC mo. I don't know if you heard but I finally got AF 11 days late with BFN's all the way. That was wed afternoon and now Fri morning and no blood, skipped the spotting and just stopped all together. I am gratefull that I finally got out of that limbo of not knowing what the hell was going on. I am excited that I have a fresh new month to get my groove on. That's how I am looking at it. TTC has been soooooooooo much better for me and DH so I am just trying to focus on that instead of making myself crazy.

Wow about having af for 3 months while pg. When you were pg you were getting BFPs, right?

This one could have been a chemical pg. I had one last month. I tested early (which I don't usually do) and got a BFP, or else I would never have known--by the time AF was due I was getting BFN.

It left me guessing that other weird and slightly late cycles with BFNs take on the hopeful 16 dpo, were probably chemicals too.

Nope with dd we didn't get a bfp til march and she was concieved in dec. Dollar tree tests even clear blue digital gave me a neg. March finally missed my af and got bfp on walmart brand.
Weird I know... I don't get it.

I noticed you said you had the Merina. When did you get it out? I had one for about three years. I got it out last spring (a year ago) and since then my periods have been really weird. The length is normal and I am ovulating according to temps. But, there are many months (half at least) that I have MANY symptoms similar to my first pregnancies. The cramps from o, tender, swollen bb, tingling nipples, bleeding gums, symptoms you just can't make up. I never had these symptoms before I had the merina but I have them now and I am not pregnant. Every cycle is bfn. I think the Merina changed things for me. It is frustrating and confusing. That said, I think preg. is possible it is just I cannot go on symptoms.

Also, I have had periods like the one you are describing since the Merina was removed. Weird spotting, then nothing, bright red for a day then spotting, etc. All were bfn. It is just taking my body time to adjust since the Merina. BTW - I will NEVER get the Merina again. I hope everything works out for you. Since you had that other experience you never really know. Keep us posted~

My first AF after mirena was about the same. I had weird spotting, then heavy flow that would stop after a fwe hours, then more spotting. The actual flow only lasted for about three days and wasn't super heavy, but was definitely AF flow. Your body is probably just still adjusting.

I think you may get a few odd cycles. It seems most women coming off any form of birth control get them. Heck, even women coming of pregnancy or breastfeeding can get odd cycles for a little while.

Count it as AF and start planning the BDing for ovulation!!

Of course, if you're really worried it wasn't AF, go in for a blood test. It might help you feel better. (Get the one where they give you the numbers, not just yes or no)
