whining, back-talking, cursing oh-my

Is this normal age appropriate behavior because it feels like it came out of no where!?

My dd is 28mos and she just started acting out a lot more. She says things like "F---in" "oh, d---it" and "spank your bottom" even though I have NEVER spanked her ever even one time or threatened to!

She also talks back all the time. If I say something like "If you don't listen to mommy then [such and such] is over" she will say "ON!" which I guess to her means 'it's not over'.

I just feel more tired than ever and it comes just when I was thinking I had the hang of this whole mothering thing!

Help please!

Is she in child care or with other family members for care during the week? Or spending time with kids who are? I do think that kids know when words or phrases are inappropriate even if Grandpa said it or Aunt Sosoandso. She is likely testing you to see how you will react to her use of them. I used to teach preschool and saw this in some of the kids. If you can figure out which adults are speaking like this in front of her talk to them and/or limit her time with them. I would very calmly tell her that "we don't use those words. If you are upset you can say I'm mad." Hopefully soon she will be over this phase!

No, that's not something a toddler just comes up with. Someone is obviously saying those things to your dd or in front of her. Now to figure out who?
