Dog, chicken bones, diarrhea

So this darn puppy snuck up on the table last night while my back was turned and ate about half of a fast food chicken, bones and all. She was fine all night and all day today. She ate fine this morning, pooped a few extra times compared to normal, but now she has diarrhea. I haven't fed her dinner yet since I'm hoping for some good advice

Help!

Odds are she is ok, but I would probably skip dinner and let that stuff work it's way out of her system. Keep an eye for problem signs, like trying to vomit with no results, tender to the touch belly, inability to lie down comfortably, more than a few drops of blood in her poop. A very small amount of blood can just be the result of an irritated digestive tract, but more than that (or any of the other symptoms) and I'd head to the vet. For the diarrhea you can give her some 100% pure pumpkin (you can get this in a can by the pie fillings, just don't buy pumpkin pie filling!). The fiber helps to bind things - a tablespoon at a time a couple of times per day.

Hope she feels better soon!

Also, be sure she is drinking plenty of water to prevent dehydration - which is easy to get with diarrhea.

Thanks. I woke up to the sound of wet poo hitting the wall and the crate this morning I gave her some rice this morning and she wasn't interested so we'll see how the rest of the day goes. She hasn't whined to go out for a few hours and she's sleeping. Hopefully she gets better soon.

My dog doesn't react well to chicken. Last time around he ended up with colitis. I'd call the vet.

Thanks for the advice. Her poop is back to normal and she's eating great. Thank goodness, we HAVE to leave town tomorrow and I'm not sure my dog sitter would appreciate dealing with a sick dog.
