Does your allergic/eczema child have issues with sunscreen?

Last summer I used a bit of California Baby for sensitive skin on DS in a few situations when we could not avoid sun, and his eczema flared up when I used it. Today was the first time I've put sun screen on him in quite some time. I decided to try the California Baby again thinking it had been a while, he isn't an infant anymore, and maybe it would be okay. Wrong! His eczema is flaring up in the areas where the sunscreen was.

I also used Badger last year which seemed to be better for him, but still not perfect.

If you have had issues with sunscreen, can you help me figure out what part of it might be irritating to him? He is allergic to peanuts, dairy, and has seasonal pollen allergies. That is all I know of so far.

Also, if you have suggestions for other sunscreens to try I would love to hear them.

wish i had something to suggest.... i have always been to scared to try any sunscreen on ds. he does not burn and i always felt like his skin was better after exposed to the sun for controlled amounts. he wears long shorts, swim shirt and hat to the beach and pool, all of which have spf properties. this always was enough for him. the exposed parts got nice and tanned and his eczema was better last summer. i am interested to hear if anyone else recommends a sunscreen though just in case we do end up needing it.

We've got sunscreen issues too.
The california baby sensitive is all my son doesn't react to so I don't have a good suggestion. I think my son is sensitive to zinc oxide. The california baby has titanium oxide. The badger has zinc oxide. The badger also has other oils in it. The California baby sensitive stick only has titanium oxide and vitamin E I think (listed soy free...). The lotion has more stuff. We use the stick. If you're using the stick I'd think titanium oxide possibly and try to find a hypoallergenic with zinc oxide.
Better might be sun protective clothing for him. I've long thought of that for Caleb.

My DS also does fine with the California Baby stick (not lotion) and he is fine with the Alba Botanica sunscreen as well.
