I have about 100 CDs that I still listen to very occasionally. We're moving and I'd love to not have to move them. But I do still want the music, even though I don't listen to it very often. I could put it all on my hard drive, is that the best choice? I don't own an Ipod, but dh does.

my preference would be to put them in a case too--a soft case with a zipper that can also hold the written materials (that is, the album art and such). DH was not into this. he gets angry at me when i bring it up. LOL. so, we have a box with the most precious CDs, currently in storage (with the rest of our library and kitchen goods). we have them on our computer, on a thumb drive, and the ipods.

This is what we did with our CD collection. It takes up much less space, and it's easier to keep organized this way as everything is in alphabetical order and gets put back where it belongs rather than shoved in a random blank spot on a shelf.

We found an awesome hard sided case for ours. It looks like a fancy stainless steel briefcase but still is nice looking and easy to store and move. Cost us about $26. Hold over 150 CD's.
I have burned my favorites to my computer so I can listen as I please and I have a back up CD just in case.
