Anyone online RIGHT NOW? Need advice!

Morning sickness passed a few weeks ago but suddenly about 2.5 hours ago I started throwing up and have done so about every 5-10 minutes since. There's nothing left but stomach acid, but I guess I just keep making more bc that's all that's been coming up for a while. Anyone btdt?? Advice? I'm not sick, and don't think this is ms.

I would call your doc. Could be food poisoning. Or worse.

I'm not sure what else it would be besides morning sickness or a virus?

If you don't stop throwing up soon I'd go to the ER for an IV and anti-nausea medication.

If you do settle down soon you're supposed to have a teaspoon of liquids (water, sprite, gatorade, etc.) every 15-30 minutes depending on how you're feeling.

I hope it stops soon!

Definitely let your doctor or midwife know. It's probably that damn norovirus that's going around. Stay hydrated.

I could have written this post word for word, in my case it ended up being ulcers.

I would call your dr/midwife and see what they think.. if you think your "dry" as in pale and have little saliva and your eyes are dry, go in and get an IV.

Sorry you are going through this.

We just had a nasty case of norovirus. If your dh or someone else can get you some peaches in syrup (not in juice)...try to take a TBSP of the syrup to see if it stops the cycle of vomiting. Then repeat. Your stomach is obviously empty at this point so often the continued retching/vomiting of bile can be reflexive. At worst, you won't be vomiting just bile, which isn't such a bad thing.

Feel better soon - and do put a call into your hc provider if you feel that you are dehydrated.

My morning sickness comes like that sometimes and it has landed me in the hospital. Either go right to the ER (you will get dehydrated while pregnant a lot faster than non-preggos) or if you really want to ride it out (as I do if it's a Saturday night and I just know that the ER waiting room is going to be a sh*t show), take a Gravol suppository. It should bring the vomiting under control so that you can start to sip liquids and nibble on food again. Call your midwife or doctor as soon as you can to inform them and see what they advise.

Thanks ladies. I did call my mw and she suggested it might be the bug going around; I wasn't aware of anything going around! Anyway, it's morning now and although I did throw up throughout the night, I'm sipping apple juice right now and it seems to be sticking. If not, I'll go for the IV. Thanks!

I'm glad you're feeling better! Being sick on top of being pregnant is no fun!

Poor thing! I know how icky that feeling is, when you've been throwing up for hours and there's nothing left, but you're still heaving. I started getting the same symptoms about once a week or so when I was 12 weeks pregnant. Right around the time my "normal" ms began to subside. Do you have headaches with the vomiting? I did, awful migraines that came about right along with the vomiting....and I could only stop throwing up when the headache passed. Sometimes it would take 12 hours, sometimes a day and a half.

I was scared, went to the doctor...Doctor didn't know, he could find nothing physically wrong. Just said it was bad ms. I thought I might have food poisoning or a flu. But when the symptoms came back the next week and then the next, I finally just diagnosed myself (using the process of elimination) with pregnancy-induced migraine headaches. In my case the throwing up and dry-heaving was all about the pain of the headache. It was just very odd, the way it came and went so suddenly and with no warning or previous signs. After about 4 weeks of this, it stopped and I haven't had a recurrance.

Anyhow...just wanted to tell you my experience in case it rang a bell. I'm glad you're feeling better. Hope the whole thing passes soon.

How are you feeling now? Glad to hear you got in touch with your MW.

Just checking in! Hope you are resting comfortably! I had a nasty bug like that at about 8 weeks, went through our house and all four of us. It was short lived, but I was violently ill for about 12 hours. Yuck! Hope you feel better soon!

I got the same bug early in my pregnancy, it was terrible, I threw up all weekend and lost five pounds. Talked to my Dr. and they said it was the stomach bug going around.
