You can only do this scan between 11 and 13 weeks, so it is too late for it now.

I can fully appreciate your concerns, and I believe it really depends on why you want the amnio--what will having the results do for you vs. taking the risk (very small, admittedly)? If you have risk factors that you are fretting over, it may be more worth it.

Best wishes!

Yes I know of several people found these on the US and spent their pregnancy worrying and being overly managed. Not one child has special needs. Watching them has given me a distaste for the whole thing.

But I also know how it feels to have the "what ifs" and how it feels to want to be prepared.

Would you terminate if the findings show T21? Don't answer here, but I think that's an important ? to ask yourself. It helped me make this decision when I was faced with it.

Had the amnio-results normal. Thrilled to be able to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy. Wouldn't have terminated had the results not been what I hoped and prayed for, but am so thankful she is chromosomally normal. Really makes me think if I ever get pregnant again, I will not have prenatal testing. Too much stress.

I'm so happy for you! That prenatal testing is tricky, isn't it? It seems the more they look the more they find, but then again it's really nice to know what we are dealing with. It's a tough choice.

Thanks for the update, mama! I've been thinking about you.

I'm so relieved to hear that everything is okay. Now you go and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy worry-free
