i'd love to, but dh is on a tight schedule at work at the moment, and i can't see making the drive w/my toddler, preschooler, and newborn

Hi all!

I live near Gore Mt. Ski Center, in the town of Johnsburg, NY (Adirondacks)

My kids are almost 30, 27, and almost 25.

I can't remember how I found mothering.com, to be honest. I remember Mothering mag back in the '80's when I was having babies at home.

I love meeting new folks, and my work with a home birth midwife as her apprentice, as well as my work as a doula and as a parenting support worker (in my "day job"), really give me lots of opportunities to meet new people, and yes- I'd LOVE to meet more mothering mommas.

Well, I can't really think of any "holistic" places around here in the immediate area, but I enjoy our local parent-child play group where I volunteer (I help run it) and I also enjoy Cafe Sarah in North Creek (they have the best Egyptian Chamomile tea on their menue and I love tea!).

I have an important dental appointment on Monday or I would definitely be at that rally. I did write to my legislator however and heard back from her that she would vote for the bill eliminating required practice agreements for midwives if it came to a vote. I feel encouraged.

What town are you in? Oneida (between Syracuse and Utica)
How old are your kids? 3.5 and 2 months
How did you find MDC? A friend, who had been listening to me question vaccines.
Are you interested in meeting other MDC moms? Definitely
What's your favorite holistic place in your area? Peter's Cornucopia or Wegmans Natural section

Also, if anyone nearby knows a delayed alt vax friendly Ped, please share. We just had some trouble today.

How far are you willing to travel? You might want to look into family practice locally as well they seem more lenient.

I would be willing to travel a good bit, I guess, if I could find someone I really trust. This whole situation has been coming to a head for awhile, and this two month appointment with my little DD just capped it off. Thanks.

There's a few down here (binghamton/johnson city/endicott), and some family practice physicians,but I'm guessing we're more than an hour from you. There's definitely some in ithaca...

How did you find MDC? A search on breastfeeding, long prior to having kids
Are you interested in meeting other MDC moms? Yes!! Absolutely!

What's your favorite holistic place in your area? Not sure, but my favorite nature place is Five Rivers Environmental Education Center.
