14 egg whites? WHOOPS!! Make that 22!

Anyone have any wonderful recipes to use these in? I made my Easter specialties, and this is what's left in the fridge, and I hate to waste them. But most recipes only call for 1 or 2, and I'm already going to be in the kitchen the rest of the day - I don't need to be making another half dozen recipes.

Sounds like it's time to make pavlova, or a baked meringue, or some divinity!

If it was me, I'd make a big baked meringue and then smother it with melted chocolate, caramel, whipped cream, hazelnuts, and pears.

Angel food cake! I think it takes like 12 egg whites or something. The meringue idea of the pp is great too.

I don't bake much, so my first thought was breakfast Big plate of scrambled egg whites with the trimmings for everyone.

angel food cake is what popped in my hwad too... or waffles

My first thought was meringue...but scrambled egg whites and waffles are also good ideas. You can make a huge batch of waffles and freeze them.

I have the opposite problem! I always end up with loads of egg yolks, and no idea what to do with them.

I make a lot of friands, which use about 5-6 egg whites per batch. Yum
I've also got a nice recipe for a low fat apple and cranberry breakfast slice which uses one whole egg and 2 egg whites.

Gelato! Usually vanilla-coffee gelato for me, but lemon or grapefruit is also good, and it uses up 3 or 4 egg yolks per batch. Each batch can store for awhile in the freezer too, if you can keep from eating it all at once.

I just used up 6 egg whites last night making chocolate chip coconut meringues. I kind of winged the recipe... toasted the coconut, beat the egg whites with maybe 3/4 cup sugar (side note, the speed at which a toddler spoons sugar with a teaspoon from a measuring cup into the bowl works very well for dissolving sugar in meringue), added vanilla, folded in the toasted coconut and a bunch of chocolate chips, baked at a highish temp for a shortish time. Yummy.

Using Up Leftover Egg Whites

Ever since we got our ice cream maker I've been trying to get rid of my egg whites. I'm not a huge fan of angel food cake, and I can only eat so much pavlova and meringue!

Thank you for the suggestions ladies - keep em coming! Because as it turns out, I managed to kill the yeast in the first batch of bread, so I don't have 14 egg whites in the fridge, I have 22!!

I'm impressed that you had 22 eggs in your fridge to start with!!

My first thought was a pavlova, as well. Smothered with berries!

You can also freeze them in an ice cube tray for later. Or make macaroons.

Eggwhite omelots or Angel Food Cake is what comes to mind.

Angel food cake! We had a bunch of egg whites left over this winter after DH made his homemade eggnog and that's what I did with them. It was very simple, egg whites and some superfine sugar I happened to have left in the cupboard. We don't have the special angel food cake so I just split it evenly between two (ungreased) loaf pans and it worked very well.

Just the other day I saw a yummy looking recipe for meringues. Basically you make the egg white mixture and add some melted chocolate at the very end, folding it in just slightly. It ends up looking marbled, very neat.

Wow that's a lot of eggwhites!

I'd probably make an angel food cake and a large batch of coconut macaroons - mmmmmmmmm.
