Hello!
What should I do if my son scratches his butt all the time during the day?

Could be pinworms. You might want to talk to his HCP.

My eldest had this reaction for days after each time he ate too much sugar (ie, b-day party where ice cream, cake and juice were served). Fwiw, he outgrew the reaction, but not until age 6 or so...

Wipe it?

Even tiny amounts of poop itch and irritate the skin. When my son does this I wipe him with a wet wipe and always find the faintest hint of brown on the wipe.

For Andrew it was parasites. (lovely thought I know). But I completely agree that poor wiping (or irritation from aggressive wiping/hard stools) either one will cause itching.

Better wiping and pinworms definitely came to mind.

Also, if it's still cold in your neck of the woods, his skin could be dry from long winter months of cold temps and heat indoors.
