so dh and i talked about being more health concious with our most recent grocery order. however, i don't think he realized i would actually be following through. so groceries came this am, i put them away, and he didn't even really see what i had ordered for us this week. noon rolls around and he is hungry. i hear him in the kitchen opening cupboards, the fridge, ect.. then silence. i know he is thinking to himself "she didn't order us any food!", because i ordered us mostly single ingredient foods. he is used to microwaved pizza, frozen dinners, you get the idea. finally i hear the microwave going and other random kitchen noises. he comes out of the kitchen with a BAKED POTATO WITH HUMMUS AND CARROTS AND A GLASS OF MILK. whoa. and he ate every bite! i just had to share because i was rather proud. i'm sure he will go out when he really needs junk and get it himself, but at least now i know he can fend for himself in the kitchen when there are no processed foods around. even though his first attempt left him with a rather odd food combination. i'm going to bake up some chicken and hard boil some eggs so he has some quck protein scources on hand in the fridge to snack on and i think we'll be set.

my eating has been fairly healthy with the exception of the last few months when i started to eat a lot of junk, along with the kids. so its mostly a reform for dh. we'll see how it goes!

I need to reform dp too- maybe I'll take my cue from you- just buy healthy stuff and he'll have to figure something out! I'm doing more grocery shopping now, so it'd be a good time to start!

yeah, it works for us because we order most of our groceries through amazon fresh, and i'm in charge of the ordering. bwahahahaha. he knows how bad his eating habits are and he is trying to be on board too, but he needs a HUGE push in the right direction. i need a nudge too as i have gotten out of my healthy eating habits, but i won't eat the stuff if it isn't around.

GO YOU! If my dh made himself a baked potato I would be in the hospital at the moment recovering from breaking my head going into a dead faint!!LOL! Also funny, I think thats a great food combo (hehe, but I am pregnant and do not have truly appropriate responses to odd looking foods at the moment....)
