Looking for a new diaper cream, help!

Thread Starter
My 2 year old has been getting rashes recently from her cloth diapers, and she just isn't ready for potty learning yet. I've been using Avalon organics zinc cream but just looked it up on the cosmetic safety data base and I'm not happy with the 4 it got. Need some recommendations on really safe options, a plus if it is cloth diaper safe, in case I can get her back in them.

Totally open to homemade stuff! Thanks in advance!

We really liked Weleda's diaper cream. It cleared up any redness right away, did not stain diapers, and has a nice calendula smell to it. DS didn't get rashes often, but he did when he first started eating dairy, before we figured out what the cause was and pulled it from his diet.

It's not the same as the Calendula Baby Cream - I think that's meant for all over and it rubs in and while it's nice, it didn't work as well on diaper area redness.

I've used Burts Bee's diaper cream on both kids, no idea if it stains since I always used fleece liners but I loved it and it smells nice

We also use Earth Mama Angel Baby. I don't know what it does for diaper rash because we've never had one!

I also have a big jug of coconut oil that I am thinking would be nice.

Before you go out and spend a bunch of money on these different diaper creams give good old vit E a try. Maybe you have already but if you haven't it may just be the magic pill. My son had a bad rash for three weeks and no cream was working. My grandma suggested vit E and the rash cleared up in 3 days. I have used it many times since then and it works every time.

I don't think any cream is friendly to use with cloth dipes becuase they are oil based...
However I have always had major success with lanolin as a first layer, then a good cream like the Weleda, or burts bees. Or a "healing salve", I make my own. The lanolin heals, as well as creates a super barrier against moisture. If I do a good dose of this before bed or nap, the rash is always gone in the morning! A miracle worker in my opinion!

I third the earth mama angel baby bottom balm! It is fantastic! I don't know if it stains cloth though. It does work miracles on cuts, scrapes and little rashes too! I absolutely love the whole entire line of products!
