6 wks pp is this normal?

my dd is 6 wks old now. i gave birth at home. i cornered my husband the other day bc there were a few details in my head that didn't make sense... he finally walked me thru my daughter coming out with way more detail than i got before. i was on my knees over a foot rest to our rocking chair and he caught her... well, i thought he caught her, really he pulled her out which i pounded into his head NOT to do but for whatever reason he did... i don't want to talk about that part, what's done is done and i know he shouldn't have done that. but he said he saw her head (she was roa) then saw a hand (right hand palm in her eye) and then before he saw her chin or neck her left shoulder was coming. he grabbed her head and shoulder and pulled so the arm never had time to extend and that's a pretty big circumference all at once! my dd was just under 8 lbs. anyways, everything has seemed normal, i had one tiny skid mark but no tears. i had a big bruise on my vulva but it went away in a few days. now i'm 6 weeks out and still bleeding which i know to be normal. having some pain when i sit, feel like i kind of have to pull things up inside before sitting?? i finally got brave and felt around to see if i can identify this feeling that something's not quite right.... feels like things have caved in a little bit and my urethra feels like its bulging out. i'm planning on making an appointment with a dr but where can i get information about prolapse and do you think i'm overreacting? i'm scared! i want to start having sex again, i want things to be normal! lol thanks for reading

ack, that would be a little disconcerting. I don't really have an answer to your question, but I can tell you that after I had my first, there was a piece of my hymen that was loose and hanging out - i could feel a thing hanging out of my vagina. It was no big deal, though, really, though it had me a bit concerned at the time.

Hope for your sake it's no big deal. Can you do kegels, yet?

Mild prolapse is actually very common, and honestly not too much to worry about... especially this soon after birth! There is a long prolapse thread in the Birth Trauma forum. Lots and lots of information. I think there is a link to pics in there, too so you can get out a mirror and see what level of prolapse you may/may not have.

This cracked me up so much in a sad kinda way, though. Don't wait til it goes back to "normal"!!! Don't stress so much about how everything looks!!! Are you able to empty your bladder all the way? Is anything sore to the touch? I get that "gotta pull it in" feeling sometimes too, usually when I've been on my feet all day... When it comes to pp sex, if it feels good, do it.

I've been wanting to go back to "normal" since 2005 (episiotomy), but I've just got a new normal now-- took a loooong time to get to that mentality Talk about it with your hubby. Most likely, he had nothing to do with it-- make sure he knows that (put yourself in his shoes... he's probably afraid he "broke" you, yk?)

gotta cut this short, bb tomorrow to babble on some more, lol

FWIW I was positive I had a mild prolapse after DS2, and then I read up on it and that scared me pretty bad! But I kept up with my kegels and I don't even remember at what point, but everything went back to normal.

thanks

Thanks I'll look into that thread. well, we tried it... went better than i thought haha. as for my husband i haven't even mentioned any of my concerns other than saying i don't think i'm healing very fast. we can't change anything and this could have nothing to do with his pulling on the baby.... i don't want him to have negative feeilngs after a beautiful birth. thanks for the replies!
