Today has been just awful. Nothing will stay down. I've had ugly morning sickness during my other 2 pregnancies, but I can't remember anything quite like this. I've had my Seabands for almost a week and I wear them for about 15 hours a day. And I think they are helping, however the vomiting has been persistent all day today. I'm afraid to put anything in my mouth and I've only peed a couple times today. I don't want to incur more medical expenses than necessary, but don't want to hurt the baby. Frankly the thought of laying in a hospital bed with an IV is starting to sound DELIGHTFUL. I'm all of seven weeks along and much more of this terrifies me. Help.

Dehydration really amplifies nausea, so if you feel like you are getting there, go in and have them give you a liter of fluid. You may feel a ton better, and this may pass quickly. There are loads of 'remedies' out there, but I went through 5+ months of HG, and never found anything that would touch mine. For now, sip broth all day - the protein will help give you energy, the sodium will keep your electrolytes up, and sipping something makes it harder for your body to protest.

Going in for an IV doesn't last long. They rehydrate you and send you home... then if you get overly dehydrated again... they do it again.
I had to do it about weekly towards the end of my pregnancy with DD.
My HG with DS I also couldnt find anything that worked. Just getting little bits in at a time and focusing on things like soups that had nutrients AND the water to them when eating and water (with a bit of lemon juice if the thought of just plain water gets to you) when drinking... never taking more than a sip, then letting my body relax, another sip, relax.... I mean sometimes it could take over an hour just to eat but its better than nothing at all or going fast and being certain I would lose it all right away. The longer you can keep it in before losing it (even if you lose it eventually) the better off you are. The longer its in you, the more your body absorbs before you get sick again.
