so here they were engraved I love you on them so I'm like going maybe I should sell them because it seem depressing too look at those rings.

Plus I wouldn't feel right to wear them anymore you know what I mean ?

Anyways to know how much I could get from the rings ?

One looks like a diamond wedding band and that is engraved I love you .

The other one has I love engraved on it with 2 big Green Emerald, garnet,citrine,2 diamonds, amethyst, aquamarine, sapphire.

So am I nuts for wanting to sell the rings ? If I did could there be a place where I could get a free estimate on the rings of how much i could get back ?

I wanted to sell mine, and what several places offered for them - wasn't even worth the TAX I paid on the rings.

A friend of mine who is the child of divorced parents, said her mother kept her rings for her (as an adult) and she really appreciated that.

Not that all adult children of divorced parents would want them, but she said that to her it was a symbol that her parents loved each other at one time.

Most places don't care what they look like or what they say on them, they just care what they are made of as they will melt down the gold and make new rings out of it, remove the stones and use them in new rings if the stones are worth anything. This means, that any work that went into design and making of the rings will not be accounted for in the amount they will pay you. Unless you are in desperate need of the cash, it's often not even worth your time to take them to a place to sell because that's how little they offer.

I gave mine to dd to use as costume jewelery. It apparently means something to her, at least on a subconscious level because she still has it. She was only 2 when I gave it to her, I think...maybe 3? *shrug*

You can get them appraised, and then sell them on Ebay or Craigslist.

Don't take them to a jeweler or a pawn shop, you won't get as much for them. It sounds like your engagement ring may have been custom-made. Was it? If so, you can play up the angle that it is one of a kind.

Best of luck!
