Welcome ladies

Adorkable, you're a doll, thank you!
I'm starting my first IUI cycle now, and we're doing injectibles. Hubby's going to give me my second shots in a few minutes. Anybody want to share what I can expect?
I've never done injectibles, but its definitely a possibility. We had iui #3 on March 29 so I'm 6dpo. I'm thinking about testing in the morning to see if the trigger shot is gone. We'll see. I only had one follicle again this month, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. However dh did have a really high count so maybe that helps. But we've done a cycle with more follies and the same count and it didn't work so who knows. If this isn't our month we'll be doing another iui towards the end of the month.

But I notice a trend, this office does not trust it's clients, they never give you any drug till the day you are supposed to take it. What the hell do they think we are going to do?
I think that's what we're taking (Gona-something, follicle stimulating hormone), and they started me on day 3 of my cycle. I have to take them every day at night, and I go in every other day for ultrasounds and bloodwork in the morning so they can decide what dosage I need. They're definitely having me give them to myself, and it's not that hard, so I wonder why your office won't do that too. could it be an insurance issue? How frustrating! That would be DAILY visits!!!

Leslie, for that follie!!!

Tear: I didn't experience anything different from doing IUI + clomid or IUI + injectibles. Once you get closer, follicle >16, I went from every other to every day monitoring. It gets really tiring going every day but they didn't start monitoring until I think day 8--that's bad but I already forget. I had IUIs on day 12 or 13. So it's a fairly quick timeline.

Hmm i will ask about the shot timing, I thought i remember hearing them giving me just 2 or 3 shots, so maybe I'm getting something different. I will learn it all before hand, but last time I talk to him, I was more concerned with my dh heading out of the country than when we were going to do if he didn't. So I think I half listened for the first time.

You used to be a body piercer? How cool! I've never heard of a clinic that wanted to do the shots for you. As much as shots suck, it would be worse to have to run to the clinic every day.

I got a bfn yesterday at 7dpo so the ovidrel is gone. The testing mania hasn't hit yet, hopefully it will stay away for a few days. I really don't need to feel crazy just yet.

Tear what cd are you?

lesliesara63 glad to hear you tested for a Neg. it s hard when i see women not dot hat and then test at 9dpo or something and drive themselves nuts wondering if it was real or something!

i was thinking about posting a few FAQ or links on the top of the thread so that ladies can share good factual pages that they have read. things about what to expect and stuff, does anyone have a link that they really found helpful when looking around?

Kelly, thanks for sharing your experience. It helps to know it can be quick.

Adorkable, I have a hard time keeping up with the #1 in 30s thread, but I really want to keep up with you. What's your dh doing now? Is he in the country, or are you waiting for him to come home? I'm thinking about you so often.

Leslie, I'm glad you got that bfn too. How long do they say the HCG takes to get out of your system from the shot? I hope the testing fever doesn't hit you soon, and you just coast through this wait.

afm, I'm CD7. I spent the day in half a panic, and here's why: we went in for the ultrasound this morning and the cyst that was small and not likely to interfere in our cycle was fricking 25x32mm big!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRRRRGH!!! And my other follicles were nothing to mention. She said that we'd have to wait for my bloodwork. If my estradiol level rose, it would indicate that this is a follicle and they'd do the trigger TONIGHT. If not, they'd cancel the cycle. This is was the nurse practitioner told us.

They just called with the bloodwork, and my estradiol only rose from 75 to 150, whatever that means. She said that this wasn't an "appropriate rise" and that she recommends increasing my dosage. I'm like...wuh? Is it a cyst or not? Shhe said there's no way to know, and that she thinks we should try to stimulate the other follicles to catch up with this one. Now I'm TOTALLY confused, because what happened to her "cancel the cycle" speech, but luckily she sees the doctor and puts him on the line. He said we should totally go for it, and that if the cyst becomes a problem he can just drain it. He doesn't want to up my dosage because he said that these things sometimes just take time. He's so chill, I love it. I feel better, but does this all sound ok to you guys? I'm really baffled by this process, and scared that we're screwing up one of our six lifetime tries.

Hi tear I'm doing good, dh is home they never ended up sending him, we just had our life thrown around for a two three months for no good reason.

So now we are back this coming cycle to the full monty

This is my first IUI cycle. I did clomid 100mg days 5-9. on CD12 I had 4 follies 20, 13, 13, and 5. I'm not doing a trigger. I got a positive OPK on CD17 and had my IUI on CD18. Not sure how big the follies were then. Also don't know how many went. The IUI went ok. They had trouble getting the catheter in. Actually had to stop, have me drink a bunch of water to get a full bladder and use the ultrasound to guide it in. My DH count was 91.56 million

livinzoo, good luck! Sorry the iui itself was so hard. Sounds like you probably had a few good follies going by then!

Adorkable, I'm sorry the last few months were so hard. I'm also glad he got to stay home. It was an admirable cause, but it would have been hard on you. Thanks for the update.

afm, 12 1/2 hours until my next emotional rollercoaster ultrasound. sigh...
livinzoo sounds great! Good luck with your 2WW!

Tear what I've come to expect is that very often you get curve balls thrown at you. I'm sure if they get concerned they will cancel you. Plus cd7 is pretty early to see much follicle growth. Hopefully that cyst will turn out to be nothing.

Nothing happening here. Tomorrow is 11dpo and I'm thinking about testing. If the urge to test isn't big in the morning I'll skip it. I just don't want to see that white test again.
Curveballs indeed. My cyst appears to be resolving itself! I had two follicles around 10-12mm on my right ovary, and nothing on my left (because of the cyst). They upped my dosage a teensy bit to see if they can get another follie to join in on the right. I go back in on Monday, but today I can definitely feel that right ovary getting geared up. oof. CD10 today.

Leslie, how are you doing? Still chill? did you test? I totally understand skipping the test. I get too scared to do it if I don't before 12dpo. I freaking HATE blank white tests by now.

Adorkable, you're staying outwardly very chill this cycle. You're getting along in dpo, are you feeling chill inside? Thinking of you!

livinzoo, how you feeling?

ps, wow you're all in your tww together! I'm gonna be lonely when I get to mine cause you'll all be gone!...
Oh I don't think I'm going anywhere. I don't know why I bother to take pg tests. Five new zits in 24hrs = BFN! I'm glad I waited until 12dpo to take a test though, because everytime I see a BFN my stomach goes in a knot. At least I didn't start at 9dpo and keep it up everyday. I'd be crazy by now. I usually have a 12 day LP but it might be longer because of the clomid. In my past cycles when I took prometrium it took about 17 days for AF to show. Hopefully since I 'm not on it this month I"ll have a more normal length of cycle. Whever AF comes and I call to book my day 12 u/s I'm also going to book an appointment to talk to DrP about injectibles.
Leslie, that sucks. I agree, waiting until 12dpo has its benefits, but I think it makes the bfn even harder to swallow. The cycle I took Clomid I think it lengthened things too, though I also was on progesterone for the first time. the injectibles aren't too bad with monitoring...so far no side effects like with Clomid. But i had to start them on CD3, and I needed pre-approval from my health insurance, so you might want to ask about it now, just in case. Holding out hope as always for a last minute surprise!
