Hey mamas

Have any of you used the book Super Baby Food for introducing solids to your babies and then later for recipes as they grow older?

Opinions? Feedback?

I didn't use it for introducing solids, but I did get it about a month ago and have been using it to get some iron rich foods in his diet because he's anemic. I'm planning to use the recipes as he gets older. In any case, I really like the book--has a ton of info and it's presented month-by-month, so you don't have to go through the whole thing at once.

I have it, and tried using it, but the time line is off for me, so I admit I am a little confused as to what I am doing

I do intend on using it as my DS gets older.

Got it two weeks ago and love it! Even if you don't follow the diet and the timeline, the information about different foods nutritional content is worth it.

I used it when ds1 was a baby (switched to baby-led solids with dd). I found that he ate much, much, much less than it said he should. I just ignored the recommendations as far as quantity, but to me it felt like if you followed the book pretty strictly, you'd be likely to soon have an infant who's getting most of his/her nutrition from solids rather than breast milk, which isn't optimal. Also, I felt like the whole plan could lead to getting pretty directive and controlling of exactly what/how much babies/little kids eat each day. I'm more of the "look at their nutrition over the week, not the day" and "offer healthy options and let them make decisions" point of views.

Of course, it's totally possible to use the book as a resource without having any of these problems. Plenty of people have used it as a recipe book.

I haven't used that book, but I use http://wholesomebabyfood.com a lot. It has a lot of tips for prepping, storing, freezing food, as well as timelines for when you can introduce foods. I've been doing purees with our 7.5 month DD and found it pretty useful.
