I used it when ds1 was a baby (switched to
baby-led solids with dd). I found that he ate much, much, much less than it said he should. I just ignored the recommendations as far as quantity, but to me it felt like if you followed the book pretty strictly, you'd be likely to soon have an infant who's getting most of his/her nutrition from solids rather than breast milk, which isn't optimal. Also, I felt like the whole plan could lead to getting pretty directive and controlling of exactly what/how much babies/little kids eat each day. I'm more of the "look at their nutrition over the week, not the day" and "offer healthy options and let them make decisions" point of views.
Of course, it's totally possible to use the book as a resource without having any of these problems. Plenty of people have used it as a recipe book.
