curious what you thought of his character.
did you feel there was pathos in his role? that there was sadness there.
the reason i am asking is many, many years ago i watched this movie called dreamchild (i think that's waht it was called) about the real alice going to receive an award on Rev. Dodgson's 100th anniv celebration in the US and she was going in an out of the the past vs. present with teh characters all real around her. great movie if you ever get a chance to watch it.
anyways in that movie it implied - or at least what it seemed to me - even as a teenager - a kinda Lolita situation. that Rev. Dodgson was in love with Alice and worshipped her but was not inappropriate with her. meaning not a pedophile. yet he truly loved alice beyond just a little child and that he wouldnt grow old with her.
i tried doing research to find out if this was true - as a teen - and never found any info.
however i thought this might be an interesting twist to the mad hatter. that he wanted alice to stay as a companion.
did you feel that?
