Crayon in the washer/dryer...help!!

You miss ONE pocket...

A full load of our laundry has crayon streaks that have been baked in from the dryer. Is there anything I can do to get the stains out?

is it washable crayon?

i'd try to get as much crayon off the dryer walls as possible (hot water, microfiber cloth), and just put the rest of the clothes thru the wash again (repeating until the crayon washes out before i'd put it into the dryer again),

you could also use an iron and some paper towelling to melt some of the crayon off of the clothes (the melted wax will wick into the towelling)

i know it's not natural, but i keep a bottle of shout for laundry emergencies--they have a phone number that you can call and they will give you laundry advice, including more natural solutions than using the 'shout'

good luck~!!!

oh, and http://www.google.ca/search?q=crayon...ient=firefox-a just in case!

Call the crayon manufacturer! I remember when I was 5 or so I left a crayon in a pocket and it went through the dryer. What an ordeal! But we called Crayola and they were extremely helpful. Even with my sister's beloved silk pajamas.

That happened to us but it was a load of sheets and blankets and not clothes, thank goodness. My son who left the crayon in in his bed to get rolled up in his sheets, at age 10, won't do it again because I had him help me clean up! We ended up not being able to get as much out of the stuff as I would have liked, but I didn't throw then out and over time (maybe 5-6 washings) it did eventually come out the rest of the way, leaving only little grease stains which later came out with some pretreater.

With clothes I would call the crayon company (or visit their site). Carbona also makes a crayon stain remover.

Thanks, you guys! I used some Shout Advanced for grease stains on my daughter's favorite pair of jeans and it came out. Haven't started working on the rest of it, yet, but feeling more hopeful now.
