I'm trying to decide what type of table to get for a small dining space. The area is such that a six foot rectangular table takes up the entire length of the space when people are seated in the end chairs, so we'd like to downsize the table while still retaining as much seating space as we can. We will have to seat five people regularly, and it would be nice to be able to squeeze a few extra people in there if necessary.
I'm thinking that a round table might work best as it's easier to squeeze people in. However, the downside to round is that you can't push it in against a wall and make up extra floor space when you need it.
Maybe a square with an extension? Side drops?
What type of table do you use in your small space? Anything you've used and strongly disliked?
