With DD1 I loved prefolds and snap wraps, but the only covers that fit according to my specifications--to accommodate either fastened or unfastened prefolds, one during the day or two at night--was the Bummis snap wrap, and I didn't like that it only came in white. I tried other brands, but they either leaked or didn't fit right.
Fast forward, now there seem to be a number of snap wrap choices and I am so happy! Good thing I have another baby to try them out on, right?! So, I am now trying out both the Thirsties Duo snap wrap and the Swaddlebees ABC snap wrap. Both of them fit fine. I was actually surprised by how much I liked the Thirsties Duo, given that I loathed the fit of the original on DD1. I like the fit of the Swaddlebees ABC even better.
DD2 put the Thirsties Duo through the ultimate test--giant poop in an unfastened prefold--and it passed with flying colors.
Then she put the Swaddlebees ABC through another test--overnight use without changing until after the first poop--and it passed with flying colors, too!
BTW, I took 22 diapers off the line and she probably went through another 12 while they were out there. HOW do people get by on only 24?!
I am so happy diaper covers have improved so much in such a short time. Dh did say he gets nervous about getting the right snap settings, but I'm sure he'll learn.
