How cool about the heartbeat - what a reassuring sound.

How are you holding up so far - I remember that April is going to be a hard month for you.

Hello Everyone!
I've been MIA here too for a while. Glad everyone is doing well. Crazy about the snow. I'm one of those on the East Coast and enjoying the summer weather in April.

So we told our family this weekend at Easter Dinner. Everyone was happy and very surprised. I feel a huge relief for some reason now that they know. We are still keeping it on the DL from neighbors/friends, etc. until we hear a heartbeat, which hopefully we will hear this weekend before my next prenatal, as I'm visiting a friend in Philly who use to be a CPM. I think I'll relax some once we hear all is well.
However, I won't completely be at ease until something else gets worked out that is really stressing me out.....
I found out last week, that supposedly, I don't have maternity benefits under my insurance, which is very odd since I had them 3 years ago!!!!! So now I'm waiting to see if they will add it without me having to wait. I'm ready for a fight. I found all of my Explanation of benefits from '07 when I was pregnant last that shows that they paid for prenatals last time.
I'm still really stressed about this as we already received a bill for the labs that were done at the first prenatal and it was over $500!!!
We are getting slammed with big bills right now and it's keeping me up at night. Anyway, sorry for the negative vent.... please send some good vibes that this gets worked out. I'd appreciate it!!!

Hope everyone has a good rest of the week.

Thanks I'm doing okay so far, better than I anticipated. I'm trying to keep busy so I don't have time to dwell on stuff.

Appt went well, the nurse found the hb. Didn't really care for her but since dh lost his insurance I'm stuck there till 36 weeks

We had a nice weekend. I actually had to work on Easter but DH came up to visit with my daughter and we ate lunch together. We did the Easter egg hunt on Saturday.

Im 12 weeks and have my first appt tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous for it. The first appt is with the doctor that collaborates with my MW.

I cant waiit to start getting some energy. I am always so tired the first trimester. Energy boost where are you???

Workwise I am struggling with when to tell by boss. I got promoted in Jan and got pregnant ohh two weeks later. Ooops. We didnt think things would happen so fast. I couldnt be happier but am worried my boss wont be so supportive. I am kinda holding out til I cant anymore with sharing the news.

Mauri - the very same thing happened to me. I got promoted with more responsibility and a raise - then found out I was pregnant seriously one week later.

I just told work yesterday and it went well - but like you I was totally nervous about it!! Let us know how it goes. I'm glad I told because I'm starting to show and it was getting hard to hide my figure.

Misty--- Glad it went well! That is encouraging to hear. I kind of feel bad for them. It is going to put a lot of work on others when I am out on leave. I plan on taking the full 12 weeks without a doubt and it is during a busy time. But, it took a long time to get pregnant with my daughter and I'd had a miscarriage so somethings are just more important.

I will let you know how it goes. Im not really showing yet, just look bloated. I also wear scrubs at work so I can hide for a while longer yet. Im probably going to hold out til about 20 weeks. I've still got about 8 weeks to go, but I guess we will have to see how the belly is doing too.

So I had my first appt today with the OB that collaborates with my MW. My MW is actually a HB MW but she is your montrice in labor. Her OB is the delivering doctor. (for your first VBAC-- after that, they will do a HB but the MW delivers you--- although bless his heart, he is known to come out to a HB if the MW needed help say with suturing and not make mom transfer to the hospital)

Overall it was a good appt. He talked for me for a while and is supportive of VBAC's. He talked alot about how he is sad how much OB has changed. He still has a 10% c/s rate and cant stand how so many other OB's don't practice that way. He flat out said it was for convenience and that there just arent many dedicated docs out there.

He said that I have at least an 80% chance of a successful VBAC. That seemed like pretty good odds to me.

He did talk about rupture, probably more than I wanted to hear, but Im glad he did it now than at 38 weeks. He did make me feel better in the sense that he talked about times where one of his patients did rupture and he was able to get baby out and mom fine within minutes.
