How much mulch will fit in a truck-bed

I hope this is the right place for this. We need mulch, a serious amount. I found a cheap place to get it, but we'll need to rent a truck. Ok fine still super cheap.


My question is how many cubic yards of mulch do you think we can fit in the back of a full size pickup?

80x60x22 inches= about 2.5 cu yd if I did the math right.

That's about what I came up with ( I used 8ft by 4 feet by 2 feet though) but I'm thinking it's not going to lay that flat, or should it? I was invisioning a big mound in the back that would affect the numbers, or maybe I'm just over thinking the whole thing.

You should be able to fit a half scoop into your bed. Most places sell it around here by full or half scoop. It can be mounded, you may want to cover it as a courtesy to other drivers, though, but not necessary.
