Looking for a good lube that isn't pricey that is good for TTC that won't kill off the swimmers!

What do you all use?
I used pre-seed, and liked it. It doesn't hurt swimmers, either.

Thank you! When DH gets home we are going to go on there and SHOP! HEHEHE! He's excited! So what do you suggest we get? The multi use tube thingys??

The single use vials seem to be more than most folks need and so seem like a waste, I would get the bigger multi use tube and get a feel for what you need. Make sure you are also drinking lots of water to help you make your own. And remember that pre seed is a supplement for arousal fluid not EWCM. if you are having any issues with EWCM then you need to address that internally because no amount of lube will penetrate the cervix opening where EWCM does its required magic !

Water water will help both types, never underestimate the power of water.

My EWCM is FANTASTIC(if I say so myself...hhehehehe)! At least I know that I can do THAT part right if nothing else on my body works! LOL! I will drink water until I'm SICK of it! Thank you for the advise Adorkable! I always like to hear what you say!

MULTI USE it is! And I'm wriggling around trying to decide if I want to order IC's or not..I never have before...

If your EWCM is great, can i ask why you need lube? I good question since no lube is as good as what you make yourself!

Just for penetration if we are trying to hurry and DTD bc of kids or exhaustion. LOL! Oh the things we can get away with talking about on here! I love it!

That makes complete sense. And yeah its amazing what we talk about here. But can you just image how strange and hard this journey would be if we couldn't share this stuff?!!

I love it when nearly every week someone titles a thread "sorry TMI" cause im not sure what that is anymore!

I used to get Pre Seed and a little does go a long ways. These days we are just using KY Liquid, I think its water based. I figure if I can't get pregnant solely based on the lube then so be it - off to the RE we go. I really don't think that is the issue though.
oo just becasue it is water based does not mean it is sperm safe in any way!

i am not a huge fan of pre seed and do very much think that they are preying on TTC folks that will buy just about anything to help their chances. that being said they have a good point about lube and they have test to back it up. i have looked around and even written to a few other lube companies for any info from them to dispute the claims or show that their brand is sperm safe and never gotten anything useful back. so it may not be the ky that is the one thing stopping you, but it is not good to put into the mix.

What do you all know about the difference between Preseed and their Pre personal lubricant (or whatever it is called?) From what I'm reading online, it sounds like the Preseed is meant to be used internally with an applicator and the Pre is meant for mostly external use? When I have used lubrication in the past it has always been applied externally so I'm not really getting how the Pressed could not seem...well goopy and wet for lack of a better term. I ordered the Pre, for the same reason as jenniferdurham (good EWCM, but it might be needed if we're in a hurry or something.)

And, I have to ask a couple of embarrassing questions. I've read somewhere that saliva isn't good for sperm? How concerned should I really be about that? And also that if the woman ttc has an orgasm, it makes the ph more alkaline, thus supposedly favoring boy spermies, but if she doesn't, it would favor the girl ones. Does anyone really follow those suggestions though? I mean, it might kind of take all the fun out of it iykwim.

this is what i understand from way too much reading:

the actual pre seed is the sperm friendly stuff and is the only stuff that should be inside you where the sperm are going to be released.
the pre personal lube is a product hey have for you to still use their brand during non fertile times or if you just want to play on the surface areas. It should not be applied to the head of the penis or your inner labia during your fertile window and certainly is not a replacement for the pre seed.

saliva as a lube is not good for sperm at all, but that does not mean that oral stimulation is bad, it means that don't use extra spit to lube you up and don't let him add some extra either. but the random amount in that go places during foreplay should not be a concern.

as for female orgasm. it may change things and it may tend to favor one or the other, but the effect are probably mild and certainly not clear enough to pick the sex of your child with them.
and having a orgasm softens your cervix and lot of arousal fluid is a great supplement to EWCM. so both of those reason are a great encouragement to doing something that is great already. some say that the contractions that happen wth your orgasm as useful to drawing the sperm up thru the cervix and there for would suggest that you have your time after him. i personally find i enjoy BDing so much more after i o so and he like its more when i like it more, so we tend not to fret about the before or after thing and just do what feel right at the time.

I personally think that the best thing we can do is keep BDing as close to normal lovemaking as I can, if it only takes you one month, how much you fuss and change things might not matter at all, but if it goes on for very long, you can start to forget that in the end this journey is about wanting to join with another amazing person and bring a child into this world.

the one request that my DH had when we started this Journey, is to simply not to be thought of as a "sperm vending machine" or led to feel like one. i think of that a lot when dealing with all the technical aspects of it all.
