The BSL Graduates and Stalking Thread - April!!!! - Page 3

Thanks everyone I'm so happy to be here. Maybe giving up coffee and drinking wheatgrass juice (Uggg) finally paid off. This was the first cycle I quit coffee. Man I wish I'd thought of getting some of that extra ginger brew while I was out. I should drink it normally. I just love it.

ENIGO! Oh My God! I am so excited and hopeful for you! This is fantastic news! I'd really been hoping that you'd be able to rejoin us before I have Bagel. Yay yay yay yay yay!

Re: Lisko's & LZP's request, I'm checking in here. Wow, I'm having this baby SOON. As long as tomorrow's midwifery appointment goes well, I'll be cleared for my homebirth as of Saturday. Saturday! That's only three days away!

Bagel moves a lot in slow, firm, uncomfortable (for me) ways. I'm fine with that. I accept that the next month or so will be a pretty uncomfortable time and Bagel is absolutely worth it. I'm also floored that I'm *this close* to finally being a mom. My childbirthing class lost a couple (out of 6) over the weekend because they had their baby on Saturday (with my midwife). Two women in the May DDC have had their babies and a third seems to be in labor now. This is really happening.

Tummy button is still an innie & I should probably post a picture some time soon (I've been taking belly shots weekly but haven't posted any on MDC in a while). We're finally getting close to being logistically prepared. The car seat, co-sleeper, & birthing ball arrived today and I scooped up a used Bugaboo for really cheap over the weekend. Our infant CPR/first aid class is on Saturday and our last session in our childbirth class series is next Tuesday. I'm getting close to the point where having this kid will be the only task I have left. So exciting! And kind of overwhelming!

Enigo: A big Congrats!!! Stick, stick, stick

starkyld: wow, you are getting really close. So exciting!!

Yummy: congrats on the move. the new place sounds wonderful. I will have to look for that ginger ale, thanks for the tip.

LZP: you don't need to feel guilty about not doing any of those tasks. I don't find I can get much accomplished these days and it is overwhelming. The problem is I can't even stay awake to watch TV, so I'm even failing at that

Lis: new clothes are always fun and especially if they are on sale.

Mae: I'll be interested in seeing if your prediction of a boy is true... time will tell.

Ok I'm bursting with excitment... it's twins ... due date was set for December 3rd--though that's for a singleton... we saw the heartbeats on the ultrasound today... both flickering at 138... it feels amazing. We have another ultrasound in 2 weeks and they will pretty much keep seeing us a the fertility clinic until the OB we are referred to takes us on. The RE discussed putting in the referral now, so maybe we'll get an update at our next appointment in 2 weeks.

congrats!

ETA-lol got excited about that and didnt even see your comment to me...

we will be HOPEFULLY finding out in just a few weeks now

Woohoo! Twins! So fun!

ETA - I decided to do a side-by-side comparison to see my progress. Here's 9 weeks compared to today (16 weeks).

I didn't realize I had grown so much! Hehe! I love it!

Kelly - TWO! Oh... how totally exciting!!!! You must be totally speechless and over the moon. How is DH taking it? I hope that all continues completely and totally healthy and happy and you get to hold TWO little bundles in November or December. I know it doesn't take away the struggle of TTC... but it must be a very, very sweet ending! I'm going to update your blurb for twins!

Enigo - I'm adding you to the first page while I'm there updating Kelly. Hope that's okay!

starkyld - Caleb can do some slow and firm movements too - where I actually say "Ow!". They are different than DD's were. My belly button can't decide if it should be out or in... I think it depends where the baby decides to curl up.

So excited for you to be so close!!!

LZP - I never feel like I get enough done either... Somebody asked me yesterday if we had the crib and if I'd started really nesting. We just finally decided that we are staying PUT in our current home... so the nesting can begin... but we certainly don't have a crib yet (or anything but clothes, CDs and a hand-me-down bouncer). I am so excited to paint the baby's room and really make it his room (and not my extended closet/family junk room)!

I'll be glad to get those T-shirts. They are of the less fitted type... which by the end I'll surely need. There is so much belly to fill them out!

And I certainly, definitely, second or third or fourth (I'm not sure what we are up to yet)...

THE VOTE FOR TEAR TO BE PG NEXT!

We need you over here Lady! I know how hopeful you'll be this cycle... and we'll all be just as hopeful for you... lurking and stalking your every "move".

I went to get a pregnancy test and proof of pregnancy for my insurance today. I didn't pee when I woke up in the morning and I went in there at 10am. Let me just say...I almost started crying when I didn't see a line. ('Cause I'm so sure this is all a big misunderstanding) They were the ic type although not the same as I have been using. Anyhoo, there was a line after 5 minutes (can you say eternity?) or so, but by then I had convinced myself that my boobs weren't sore anymore. Man I was doing so well yesterday. I'm already a mess.

Frick. Now I can't find my drivers licence or credit cards...Pfff
post #51 of 157
lol thats why I waited so long to go in for mine (I was 6 weeks to the day when I went in for my confirmation)

the nurse told me it would probably take a bit because their tests are slow, then she looked down and goes WOAH! Thats dark!

lol

but yay for confirmation it always makes me feel better when my doctor knows Im pregnant too!
enigo- UGH. I know how much you want to just keep POAS to see that glorious line pop up!! But... maybe you can just wait a few days (hours??) it's still in the beginning stages when it can be based on how much water you had the night before, etc... and some of the ICs are really just C-R-A-P!! (especially if it was at the Dr, and it was one of those 100 miu ones... hate 'em.) are you going to get betas, or no? wasnt that this morning? maybe those will make you feel better. till then, you're doing great, and you're soooooo strong. stay strong little root. (if you have seen Black Sheep with Chris Farley, you will know this maybe? one of my faves.)

Kelly- OOoooooooohhh EEEemmmmmmmm GGGeeeeeeeeeeee !!! that is fantastic news!! Congratulations to you and DH. and your LOs will have that beautiful house to call home. How lucky for them that their parents built something so lovely just for them to run and play. Can't wait to hear your wonderful updates now! Glad the RE will be following you till you're released to the OB, and hopefully your OB will be sensitive to your every need- this TTC journey can make even the strongest mama a little skittish at times. . wow. news here today keeps getting better.

Lyndzies- what a cute comparison! you really have grown! and funny, even the 9 wk doesnt look like bloat at all... looks like full on belly (maybe what mine looked like a fw weeks ago even!) Perhaps you will plateau for a few weeks till after 20 when babe starts to exponentially grow again! I saw your comment about being a house at 35+ and I can understand the concern, the body can only handle so much, and it will do exactly what it needs. like you said, you're eating well and taking care of yourself. let the babe do the rest

Lis- I bet furniture and paint of any sort will make it feel so real! yippee!! How funny that some people are like "you dont need to do that yet..." and others are wondering why the heck you havent packed the car with the stroller and car seat yet... (at least that's been my experience thus far.)

AFM, missing the library book sale this weekend since i'll be out of town. DH volunteered to go for me and scope out any good AP/NFL type books > i think he's feeling bad that I've read like 4 books- fewer than my goal- and he's still puttering through his first... (as he should, I keep reminding him that while procrastination is one of his favorite hobbies, August won't come any later just bc we arent ready...) I get so nervous that he'll be clueless and weird during labor because he's unprepared. I know he'll have the best intentions... and will be loving and caring...but lets just say that I'm delighted the doula will be there so someone will know what's going on. I dont think 4 classes will be enough to get him there... gotta love 'im though, he's working like crazy on that basement.... drywall being installed today!!! wooooo hooooooooooo
post #53 of 157
thanks
I talked myself down off the cliff. I just finished scrubbing the bathroom...Ugg. I must be an early nester. I have an incredible urge to clean out the shed too.

Yeah this lady said, "Oh yeah, you're pregnant". when she saw the line. I was so afraid she would say something like. "Nope...nothing there. Go home now"
(You know, like my hpt's have been doing all along)
No I won't be doing betas. There's nothing that can be done if they aren't pretty, and the last thing I need is to worry about that.

One really awesome thing. I had heard that you could no longer have a home birth with Medicaid in FL...I guess I had incorrect info. These guys still do it, but if you live far, they request a little extra donation since they can't bill Medicaid....whatever. That's one less thing to worry about.

I'm starting to think I really am gonna have a baby for Christmas!
Oops.. sorry I didn't find this earlier!
LZP: I'm glad to hear that the basement is coming along. I'm sure the doula will be a big help and hopefully DH will learn from the classes and books in time.

Enigo: I'm glad to got the confirmation today and are feeling positive about being pregnant with a Christmas baby.

Lis: I feel like I'm in a dream world still. I can't believe I've finally emerged from the other side of TTC. The RE made a joke about us getting two for the price of one yesterday... we laughed and then I said that I feel like I won the lottery. I've never been happier in my life than these past few weeks.

Lyndzies: you look fantastic, so happy!! definately some progression! I need to start taking some photos to document the growth.

Carlyle: I love your enthusiasm. I am right there watching Tear with everyone else. I can't wait for her to join!!

Mae: I didn't realize you were going to find out the sex of the baby. I thought you were leaving it as a surprise.

I am over the moon for sure... unable to focus at work today... I stare at the ultrasound pictures in complete awe! Two weeks until we get another glimpse of them!

Nope. Id rather it be a surprise but DF wants to know and since this is his first I do not want to deprive him of the chance to know ahead of time.
Are you going to let him find out, and keep it for a surprise for yourself? I suppose that would be tough.

I have to know. I'm just that way.

AFM: lemme just say I know it's early and yesterday I was a little worried (OK a lot...boobs barely hurt yesterday) but right now, I swear I feel a little nauseous! Also I think my boobs are gonna fall off! Woot!

I really didn't want to know this time around.. but dp was persistent, and there is no way he could have kept it a secret. The man was crowing.

I have decided that my husband was a peacock in another life..

Heh. Quite possibly.

My appointment with my midwife yesterday was fantastic. Everything looks great & I'm cleared for my homebirth as of tomorrow. Bagel can stay in there and keep growing as long as he or she needs it, but knowing that I'm cleared is HUGELY relieving.

Kelly--wow! That's really exciting (and must be a bit overwheming).

enigo, I'm glad your boobs hurt.
