Which should I buy? 1/2 used Fuzzi Bunz Perfect size or new Bumgenius 3.0 one size?

I have a chance to buy 18 new Fuzzi Bunz in Medium for $180 (but the inserts were used for 6 months) OR 12 new Bumgenius 3.0 one size for 203.00.

Which would you buy and why? My current stash includes 11 Bumgenius 3.0, 1 boutique. I need more diapers. We decided to sell our prefold stash for a variety of reasons.

I would get the Bum Genius as long as they are the snaps not aplix. I admit I have never had FB but it seems like everyone that I know that had them the elastic would wear out really quickly. I DID have the BG and LOVED them! Mine were aplix that I converted to snaps, but they held up threw a LOT. I had 2 kids using them, and my stash consisted of 18 dipes! I washed 2 times a day and they still look and function like brand new. I purchased them like 2 1/2yrs ago.

So IMO they can last forever!

Well, my BG 2.0 wore out (elastic big time, not just the aplix, plus stink) during the 2nd year of use, and this time we're thinking of trying some FB b/c they have the easy-replace (and adjust) elastic now. Not sure if that's what you'd be buying. We're going to try a bunch of different dipes this time around, last time I was like, I need a big stash from the get-go! But FB is at the top of my list.

Thats a pretty good deal on the FB. Have you ever tried FB? Are you able to see what shape the diapers are in since they are used? They are also nice and most babies never out grow meds. Its hard to know what to do especially if you haven't ever tried them.

For what it's worth...

I switched from sposies to CD when DD2 was about 3 months. I started with FB smalls. Got them used. Then we happened to move 10 minutes from Cotton Babies in St. Louis and I saw brand new dipes for the first time ever. I was in love. When she grew out of the smalls, I switched her to BG 3.0. I've been really happy with them. Recently, I did get a few of the new Fuzzibunz One Size as I do like how they don't fold in the back and I also thought I liked snaps better. Plus, they were so so so so soft.
But after a few weeks, I reach for them last. While they are trimmer than the BG, that also means they don't hold as much (ie: overnight or during her high pee volume mornings). The softness of the liner also has not held up as well as the BG.

In short... especially if you wouldn't be able to touch and feel the FB before purchase, I'd go with the new BG.

I just bought a few BG diapers (Partly because I got one as a baby gift and partly because of the coupon in MOthering this month), and I've been SUPER impressed with the 3.0's as a nighttime diaper. I can't afford to make my whole stash out of them, but using them at night (and my fitteds + covers during the day) has been wonderful.

I have a stash that consists of about 1/2 perfect size FBs and 1/2 BG. I've been using the BGs for about a year. The FBs are almost all used. I just had to have my BGs converted to snaps because the aplix tabs were all falling apart, and the laundry tabs were no longer sticking to the tabs so all of my diapers were getting caught together in the wash. I loved my BGs, and still do, but I really wish they came in snaps or had better tabs. I feel like FBs are the Honda of the CD world. They are great new, but they keep on going and going so buying them used will still give you a super dependable diaper. I'd go with the FBs.

Having used both....BumGenius, hands down. I am a velcro/aplix lover myself, but the snaps and velcro from BG are both awesome.

I wanted to love the Fuzzi Bunz, I did. I just ... don't. Hah!

We love the fuzzibunz perfect size in our house. I love that the legs and waist have different snaps for adjusting and no velcro! We have 9 in our size small stash and we continuously reach for them, especially at night. Now, my baby is still very young, but 2 were bought used (at least 6 months) and we wash them every other day. We line dry as I've heard that should extend the life of the diaper.

I have 36 bg 3.0s and 40 2.0s and I love them both. I seriously considerd the fuzzi bunz over the 3.0s when DS2 was born, but in the end just opted for what I know I like. the 2.0s are now 3+ yrs old and still going strong, though the elastic is fairly stretched out (they were DS1's and hes finally potty trained, but we never had issues till the end with repelling and that was solved simply bo switching detergents... ). I also love the velcro. I get the perfect fit every time, and they've never fallen apart on me yet

Hmmm............I think I might go with the FB, I have both in my stash and while I like the fit of the BG, I don't like the velcro. The FB that I got at the same time as the BG's are in way better shape and look way better then the BG's............just because of the velcro. We used our FB meds from when DD was 14 months (24 pounds) until she was done with diapers....28 months (32 pounds). They both have their pros and cons I guess......the fit of the BG's is awesome but the FB seem to hold up better. I don't think I"m heping!

just an fyi for the BG users... Cotton Babies does sell a replacement velcro set for like $1 or so, and they recently changed to free shipping on ALL orders.
