hmm interpret this preggo test for me please...

So I got a cheap CVS preggo test. There was the one control line, and then the other window is suppose to show one line if preggo, and nothing if not preggo. What I saw in this window looked like a plus sign with the horizontal line being lower than in the middle. This off looking plus sign was EXTREMELY faint, so I was wondering was I just seeing where the line WOULD be if it had been positive? Or is this a faulty test? I really don't think I'm preggo but I was just wondering.

After how long did these lines appear? Because sometimes when I take a cheapie test, the "streakies" in the background take a good 10-15 minutes to disappear. They make different patterns each time, and I've seen the dye go into a sort of plus sign before disappearing later after the streakies go away.

If you still have the test, you can take it apart, and SEE if the test line is in the correct place. It will usually have a different "texture" than the surrounding paper strip. If there is a smooth test line in the place where it should be, and nothing in the place where you saw the plus sign appear, then I'd say you're in the clear for now. If you have an extra, test again in a few days just to make sure, but the dye in cheap tests tends to run everywhere and take a while to go away, especially if it was even just a little bit undersaturated.

I took one again this morning, this time just the very very and I mean you really have to look at it preggo line...but it's there, I'm thinking it must be because it's a cheap blue dye test. But maybe I'll take it apart that's an interesting idea

This particular test is known to give false positives (sorry) I would go and buy a $tree test. There is a thread around here that just talked about it... I will go look and update soon. Did it look like this ?

So have you taken another test?

I did, it was negative. I will never trust the blue dye tests again!
