Breastfeeding and croup??

Hi there, my DS2 is nearly 8 months old (two days shy, actually..), and we're 90% sure that he has croup - the seal/barky cough, cranky a bit of a fever (~101). The thing that I find most worrying is that he doesn't seem to want to nurse very much My DH thinks I should pump and try and give him a bottle of bm (after letting it cool down in the fridge)... I'm resisting, as I'm worried he'd like that and then after this ordeal we'd never get back to nursing (probably an irrational fear, but there you have it...).

Anyhow, any recommendations on how to get him to nurse?? I pumped some a little bit ago and then finally got him to latch on for a little while anyhow, but he's back to preferring to just suck on his fingers

I'd pump (to keep up supply and get him the milk) and try to spoon feed/ give in a cup if he's not getting breastmilk at the breast. poor baby must feel rotten!

Cold air helps the croup, will he nurse outside at night? In the shower (with the steam?)
