My husband and I are starting to move forward with our plan to ttc a third. I'm going to meet with a perinatologist (who saw me when I was in labor with my second dd.) I'm trying to think about what sorts of questions I should ask him so I can be best prepared for my appointment.
I had pPROM with both my children, first at 36 weeks, then at 33. The one at 33 weeks was after I had many complications from a stomach virus, several days of contractions (without dilation or effacement) and then pulmonary edema from the terbutaline and IV hydration.
So far my questions are:
1. Statistical likelihood of going to term or near term.
2. His thoughts on anti-contraction meds for irritable uterus (I had lots of BH with #2 without cervical change.)
3. What conditions would there be for bedrest, strict bedrest, and pelvic rest?
4. What could I do to best prepare myself for pregnancy now and to lower my chances of PROM?
5. My fetal fibronectin was negative just a day or two before she was born, does he suggest any more fetal fibronectins in the future?
6. His thoughts on newer treatments such as p17 shots and self-checking vaginal ph for signs of bacterial vaginosis. Also taking probiotics to prevent bacterial vaginosis.
Can you think of any questions that I might have missed? If we do decide 100% to ttc, we wouldn't be starting until July so I have plenty of time to get ready and make any needed changes in my lifestyle. I am at a healthy weight, pretty good eating habits, have good dental health, do not drink/smoke/use drugs.
