ovulate on CD 10/early ovulation?

Hey all...I am new here, and hoping to figure something out!

This month will be the 3rd cycle my DH and I are TTC. I don't really chart my temps, because I am nursing my 14 month old and still getting up with him at night sometimes, so I don't usually get that 3 hour stretch before waking up to temp...anyway, so my temps are not really accurate in my opinion. I do track my CM though...and the past three cycles I have noticed that my AF will end CD 7, I'll have like a day of rubber cement CM, and then lots of EWCM CD 10. Today is CD 10 of this cycle and I have had lots of EWCM and what I think is ovulation pain on my right side...is it possible to ovulate that early? If so...is ovulating early something to be concerned about? I know that having too short of a LP can be bad, but what about a LP of like, 20 days? My cycles are between 28 and 30 days usually.

My first thought is...well, if I'm having EWCM we should BD, right? anyone else have long LPs? any suggestions?

thanks!!

you dont generally ovulate on the very day that you have EWCM or ovulation pain. Ovulation pain is very rarely the exact moment of ovulation but rather leading up to, or the sometime after. Yours sounds like your body is gearing up to ovulate and you could still within the next week.

Without temping you cannot be 100% positive of your O date and with the fact that you are only getting EWCM and ovulation pain on cd10 I would not worry about it.

Hey Alissa! I had to respond & say Hi.

I AM charting, and I've wondered about the same things. The earliest I've O'ed is CD12, and I've wondered "how early is too early". Also, with the long LPs- I've had 16 & 17 day LPs, and it's frustrating to wonder- Am I late? Or is my LP just being long?

I know these are the opposite problems everyone else deals with, so I don't worry about it too much. No answers, though, sorry. Charting did help me discover these things, though.

agree with mae. o pain can be before, during, or after, and usually you will have fertile mucous for several days leading up to o. o'ing "too" early is not common. they say earlier than cd 9-ish can pop an immature egg, but that just doesnt happen very often. good luck!

I get EWCM around CD7-8 but I'm a somewhat later ovulator - I don't usually ovulate until CD 16-17. I get another round of it around CD13/14 or so. I think it might be a wave of estrogen or something - not sure, but when I was charting temps, I had the same thing happen almost every cycle and didn't ovulate until later, so I'm guessing it's pretty normal.
