My 8 yr old daughter has had some funky looking undies the last couple of weeks. Greenish/yellow/old blood brown spots all over her unders. I have bought some generic monistat and have asked her to use it but she didn't until I made her tonight, because she's embarrassed. I looked last week and didn't really see anything alarming, no redness and I saw no discharge. Today she was put on augmentin for a really bad case of strep throat. Her tongue is coated in white but the np was non-commital if it was caused by strep or not. She just told me to bring her back if it doesn't go away with the strep. This may have been going on for quite some time, as she is sooooo embarrassed about the whole thing and may have been hiding it from me. I noticed her scratching her genitals and then started looking at her underwear and found the stuff on them. I believe it started when I bought them a new body wash that was heavily perfumed. Two of my girls are very sensitive to perfumes and dyes in soaps, I honestly don't know what I was thinking even buying it, and I feel so bad about it now. Anyway, can anyone tell me if this is indeed yeast, or something else? Also, what can I do to help her body heal?
