I've been having positive opk's since saturday and the 2nd line is still quite a bit darker than first, actually it appears to be getting darker. how long is it normal to continue getting these?

i'm not an expert, but typically it's 1-2 days, sometimes 3. there may be a little bit of concern if it goes 4 or more, as far as it can be a sign that LH levels are high, like they can be in pcos, for example.

may I ask what brand you are using?

should i go to the dr. then if they still keep coming up positive?

Tesco's own brand opk. they pick up 30miu which my ex potential donor said wasn't very good

i guess you have to see what happens. you might want to double check the result against another brand, maybe this batch was a fluke and extra sensitive, but in gen'l, 30 sounds reasonable to me. there can be a lot of things that increase lh (including age,) so if it were me, and i did end up with a bunch of +s, i might check with my dr, maybe they could draw some blood and check out the most common things. it doesnt look like you've had any problem getting pg in the past, sometimes things change, but i would take that as an encouraging sign.

Thanks i'm still testing positive today, according to another site long l h surges can indicate realising more than one egg, i really hope not because that means because of that donor i've not only missed one egg but two
i think i'll phone the dr's to see what they say.

just wanted to add that OPK tests can also come up positive if you are pregnant.

becky- did not comment on this before, but your temps are really low and really varied, do you know why? usually temps pre-o are in the 36's celcius or 97s fahrenheit- you've got some inthe 93s?

I think we already discussed this with you but there is no way those temps are accurate... if your temp was really below 35C you were hypothermic.

no idea probably my dodgy thermometers (it's strange though because they used to put temps as being too high not too low, especially the ear one i used for the first few days till i realised your not supposed to.)

deffenatley not hypothermic, i don't think they are accurate was just looking to show the rise after o which it did, i have ordered a bbt thermometer so hopefully that will be better.
just find it very strange that the thermometers seem to work ok for my lo's but not for me.

I was going to say what organic said because that is what happened to me. Had what I thought was AF. Started using opk's on what I thought was CD10. They were positive for 5 days straight. Someone asked if I was possibly PG. I thought, no way, AF just ended 9 days ago. Decided to take a PG test anyway, it was a very dark BFP! I would take a PG test just in case

have been getting symptoms, but i'm thinking it's probably just wishful thinking. however as i am getting 10 opk's and 10 hpt's with my bbt thermometer i could try one of them.

well my tests and thermometer came this afternoon so i decided to try one of the hpt's and it was a BFN so i'm obviously just imagening all these symptoms, i'd be almost 12 weeks so would be testing positive if were pregnant.

I used my new thermometer to check the temp against my old one and the old one said 36 the new one said 35.59 so now i'm confused are all thermometers wrong or am just a naturally cold person, i used the thermometers one after the other.
where are you temping on your body?
girl, i do not know. how can you be THAT cold? you hadn't eaten or drank anything for at least 30 mins before you took your temp, right? you put it under your tongue, as far in as you can, kept your tongue on the bottom of your mouth to hold it in place, and closed your lips around the thermometer, and kept it in until it beeped that it was done?

i wonder what it would be if you temped vaginally?
the tip of the thermometer probe needs to be touching the fleshy area under your tongue where your tongue connects to the bottom of your mouth, where the blood vessels are. is this how you are doing it?
yeah... if this is oral temping Im thinking shes a prime candidate for vaginal temping to get accurate results!

i had been just doing underarm temp with my old thermometer because it's a bendy thermometer and i found it hard to keep it in my mouth properly. i will be doing my temps orally starting at the beginning of my next cycle, see it makes any difference, if not i'll have to try vaginal temping.
yes, its going to make a HUGE difference... underarm readings are the LEAST accurate ones you can possibly get! And likely... any shift they show you has nothing to do with your chart or ovulation.

The only two places you should be temping when doing bbts is orally and vaginally.

yes kind of figured it would be that now actually thinking about it because when i did try orally this afternoon it was higher, doesn't really make any difference to this cycle though because the donor let me down, but i'll know better for next cycle.

good to all the ladies ttc may we all soon see your BFP posts
thank you everyone
