How long were you on an ED? I'm just curious if there's a "typical" timeframe for being on an ED before you figure out all the allergies/intolerances. Go from when you first started, even if you didn't have a clue what the problem was.
Baseline can mean whatever you consider to be baseline for food sensitivities.

Multiple choice is allowed, so choose for each child. Or yourself.

We haven't reach baseline yet as she's still reacting to something. I'm not sure what else to take out, so right now i'm looking at shampoo/conditioner to see it's that the cause of her symptoms. Her symptoms are still a bit of cradle cap, rash behind the ears and wax buildup in her ears.

We have been on ED since mid-feb.

DD2 was on an ED, and we reached baseline at about 2 months, then started adding things back in to check them for another couple months. Then a year and a half later when we did the ALCAT test, she lost some of those foods, but gained a bunch of others.

If you're still reacting after 3 weeks on a TED, you've got the wrong foods, IMO.

Hmmm.... I'm not sure exactly how to answer that (or if you want me to answer it at all. ) I didn't vote.

I started an ED when DD was a few months old, and kept taking food after food out of my diet. I did eventually start a TED, which still didn't get us to baseline. After switching out foods on my TED (about a million times), we finally got to baseline after about a year of trying. And then we lost it. We've been going from close-to-baseline to having reactions off and on since then. Our diet is still close to 10 foods, which some might still consider an ED (it's not an intentional ED- it's just that we only have that many safe foods for DD.)

So... 1 year to get to baseline, and more than 2 years on a quasi-ED.

Not helpful, I know.

eta: But I wanted to agree with what Kathy said- if the TED isn't working after a couple weeks, you have the wrong foods. You really should never stay on a strict TED for longer than that.

Did you know that cradle cap is actually a fungus?

It has taken us over a year.
I have cut so much out and realized that I have cut so much food out that we were getting sick and worse from malnutrition. What has been the most helpful is ADDING in the right food and key nutrients and many of the foods that were suspected allergens are fine now.

You have got to see my kids skin now, so soft and healthy, even after eating junk food. many months ago they were all broken out and bleeding even.

I was lucky in that I hit the nail on the head the first time. We never TED, but we did eliminate gluten, dairy, soy, artificial flavors and preservatives, and all sugars but honey. I think with most foods three weeks is plenty of time, however I will say that gluten seems to take longer and the symptoms upon re-entry can be easily missed or sort of creep back in. I think three months is a better idea for gluten.

We are now gluten.dairy.and egg free for her (dd1). DD2 has bucket reactions to some sals/hists so we are working on that now.

We were on ED (a TED of my usual foods but no ta TED by exact definition, if you kwim) for about 8 or 9 weeks before I felt like we were very close to baseline.
Just want to throw some info out there: I had to do everything I could to eat a more balanced diet because I now have Gout and too many carbs causing edema in my lower extremities, and my thyroid and kidneys are not functioning as well as they were about a year ago.
DS still has a small spot of eczema on his scalp. I have no idea where it came from and it's just not going away. It keeps growing enough that I notice after a few days to a week. At this point, I know ds is reacting to soy and dairy, chicken and eggs, and all legumes.
