Peanut Shell Sling For Newborn?

Hey all!

I was just wondering what you can tell me about using a Peanut Shell sling for a newborn. I bought one to use with DD but she was already a toddler. I liked using it for her. I am now having another child and I would like to use it for this baby but I just don't know how well it will work. I plan to use it for nursing as well. It just doesnt seem that it would be comfortable. Have any of you used it for a newborn? What are your experiences?

I didn't like a pouch sling for my newborn because i couldn't get him to lie in it properly and have his face exposed at the same time and i didn't like how it seemed like his body was curving around mine. My son hated being in it anyway.

But just a few days ago i saw a mother and her newborn walking quite happily down the street together.

This and this are pictures of my 2 month old DD in a peanut shell. We love it and used it daily from birth till about 5 - 6 months. She rode way to high to nurse in it.

I bought a PS for my newborn dd (now 3), and it worked ok for a few weeks, but I didn't find mine to be stretchy enough to be comfortable. I found it far more helpful once she could ride in a hip carry. Then it was an easy to toss in the diaper bag option. I have a Baby K'Tan now that I am looking forward to trying with my new baby, due in a few weeks. I can't say how it works yet, but it is stretchier and uses both shoulders for support, so I anticipate liking it better.
