Great ideas I hadn't thought of before!

I broke down yesterday and ran the A/C for about an hour. It helped clear some of the pollen from the air, and that coupled with the rain we had today relieved me of the headaches I was having! Yay!

We keep windows open all day for a breeze. Lots of fans, well like one in the bedroom and two in the living room/kitchen. Not using the oven at all, cooking outside. We used to have a toaster oven and a hotplate that we used in the summer, outside on our porch (so it stayed out there), but the porch is no more and there is no covered place to keep it.

We only have one room a/c and that's for the bedroom so we can sleep well. It is crazy humid here and the windows in the bedroom don't face a way for a breeze to come in.

If you do need to use your A/C, it works a lot more efficiently if it itself is cool, so keep it shaded.

I feel the same way! Our family room gets all day sun, because it sorta sticks out the back of the house and has windows all around. So I just close the curtains on the side that the sun is shining right into and leave the others open. It helps a TON!
