name help

Yes, this is another name thread. DH and I are at an impasse, we need help!

Here are some names we like (either both of us, or one of us). Can you suggest something similar, or in the same vein? FWIW, our older children are Zachary, Elizabeth, Anna, and Jonas.

Serena
Meredith
Elinor/Eleanor
Serenity
Elise (but not under serious consideration anymore, since we think it's too close to Elizabeth)
Clara
Claire

Thanks! I just really want to be done with this discussion.

I like all your names! My daughter's name is Meredith so I vote for that. Our second daughter is Fiona, and Penelope was another one on our list too.

I considered Seren as a middle name. It's Welsh for "star".

Serena-- not a fan
Meredith-- it's pretty and uncommon but not out there. It works well with your other kids names.
Elinor/Eleanor--- love it, but PLEASE spell it Eleanor.
Serenity-- NONONO- to me it sounds like a stripper.

Clara- LOOOOOOOVE. I wanted this for my dd. It's simple, charming and feminine.
Claire-- the more boring, imo, version of clara. It's still nice though.

I like Meredith too. And Mer means sea, which is nice.

I think Claire or Clara would fit best with your other kids' names. Eleanor is beautiful (I really like the spelling Elinor too, but she'd constantly have to spell it for people) but I think Eleanor is also too close to Elizabeth.

I'm partial to Eleanor because its both mine and my mom's name. Definitely don't spell it with and "i"!

and I also really like Clara but not Claire. There is something lovely and bygone about Clara but Claire just feels blah

I like Serena - but I'm a Law and Order Junkie and the one lawyer was Serena...

Elise was my grandmother's name and is my DD's middle name. My friend named her baby Alise which is said pretty much the same way just to throw that out there...

Claire is way too popular just now.

Meredith is pretty.

Eleanor is a wonderful name and my favorite queen... Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Serena and Serenity don't do it for me. They conjure specific images that I would tie to a sweet little girl.

I've heard a good bit of Elise, too. Though it is lovely and easy to spell and say.

I think Claire is too popular, too, and DH is ok with not using it. He prefers Clara to Claire.

We have decided to let our older DC choose between Eleanor Ruth and Serena Ruth. We almost used Meredith for our DD2, but the kids chose Anna instead. So hopefully, we will have a name by the end of the day. Thank you for your input, your perspectives are very helpful.

Well, not by the end of that day, but today! She now has a name: Eleanor Ruth. Eleanor because we can agree on it, and Ruth after DH's Granny (who was a wonderfully, sweet, and loving person).

Love it! I think it will mean a lot to her to be named after someone so special
