toilet lock? toilet seat reducer?

We recently started EC with our 10-month old son. Waiting for a potty (a clear one, similar to the BBLP) and several books in the mail, but for now we're mainly just doing a bit of timing and lots of prefold-without-cover or diaperless time to ease into things.

My question is about toilet locks and toilet seat reducers. I babysit 2-3 toddlers (all <18 months) who are in diapers. In time, if their parents want, we might do a bit of EC with them too, but for now they are all in diapers. 1 of them is obsessed with the toilet, and with putting things into it, raising the lid, slamming the lid (and little fingers!). I think I need to get some sort of toilet lock, because I'd rather not keep the bathroom door closed. Any suggestions on good locks?

I plan to just start EC with the little potty, and was thinking of getting a BBPC later on, but was also considering a toilet seat reducer. But I don't think that it is possible to have a toilet seat reducer and a toilet lock on at the same time, or anyways the lock might pose an extra hassle when trying to potty quickly. Any suggestions on this? I suppose that some toilet seat reducers (the softer ones) would take care of the slamming seat/lid and pinching fingers problem, but wouldn't solve the toys-in-toilet problem.

Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Not an EC-er, but saw this in new posts.

What about something like this? I'm assuming that it closes up like a regular toilet seat and would allow you to use a toilet lock.

The toilet locks I've seen are generally just a matter of flipping the lock out of the way. Not sure how they work on toddlers who know what's what, but they'd be quick enough to move out of the way for an adult.

I leave the toilet seat reducer off and put it on when we use it.

I bet the toddler's parents would like it if he stopped playing with toilets, so have you tried playing dumping games with a bucket or something? "Oh, you want to drop toys in water? Here's a bucket, let's see if this floats..." It'd probably be pretty fun for all the kids and playing that game at your place might satisfy his need for dropping things into water for a day or two.
