Has anyone tried Zumba? How long before you saw results? Do you enjoy the workout? Looking for feedback before I buy a DVD.

We have it at the Rec Center I work at. It's wildly popular among all ages, shapes and sizes. It's like ary exercise program, you get out of it what you put in. If you are already a marathon rummer you may not see much but if you are a regular exerciser or a new one, you will see changes (as long as you don't eat a bag of cookies afterwards ) . Best of all it's fun which makes it easier to continue doing.

No experience with doing it by DVD

I keep hearing about Zumba. Everyone keeps talking about it. They just started a class at the Y where I go but I have to work during that time so I can't try it out.

My friend LOVES zumba. She goes every week and see's great results. I have been a few times with her and for me it was hard to get a good workout....not because it isn't a good workout, but because it was difficult for me to figure out the steps. Everyone else was just flying through, they had all been in the class several times. So, it was hard for me as a newbie. I think a video might be a good idea, so you can learn the footwork at your own pace.

I just started Zumba. They offer classes at my gym. I can't tell results yet, but man, can I feel it during the class. It is a WORKOUT for sure. One lady burned over 900 calories, just in one hour. The instructor burned over 600. I will say, it was enjoyable. I plan on going 2 or 3 times a week, so I'll let you know about results.

I am a marathon runner, and I did see some great changes when I started doing zumba regularly! I have much better hip mobility, which improves my form, and the lateral movement has strengthened my IT bands, so I no longer have any pain from them when I run. I love zumba! It took me about a month, going regularly to really get the hang of the moves, but once I did, it is definitely a good workout!
