I don't know if any of my FB friends posted here for me...but here's the ultra Cliff Notes version of my daughter's birth. I'm just not ready for writing up the whole thing yet.

First I had a couple of nights of prodromal labor. Then I had three days of labor. I really didn't think I was going to make it through the end of that without going to the hospital, but I did - I had a water birth, and a VBAC. She was born 3/30, at 11:30 pm. 8 lbs 6 oz.

Then the placenta didn't come out. Went to the ER where some idiot dug out half the placenta and left the rest. Went home, was in agony for a while until trip #2 to the ER. In addition to the placenta issue, they found a huge hole in the vaginal wall, which my dr attributes to the long labor. It had caused my intestines to shut down and fill with gas, hence the severe pain. After six days of recovery in the hospital, I came home last night. Arianna is doing well - just the usual night/day mixup that is tormenting mama.

With that, I should go take a nap.

Just checking to see if you had your babe

Wonderful that she is well, and good for you for sticking out three days of labor! Wow, I am impressed.

On a side note, I too retained my placenta after a home-birth and went to hospital where it was removed and had related complications. Oddly I also spend six days in recovery (two in ICU and 4 in postpartum). Totally weird!

Rest! Wishing you a speeding recovery and lot's of support. xoxo
