my son will be turning 3 in May and I'm at loss as to what to get him for his b-day? Any reccomendations?

Train table/trains/tracks
Bike/scooter
Books
Puzzles
Play kitchen/food
Cars/planes/helicopters

Not sure what he already has but these are all things my DS loves (also turning 3 in May). Memberships to fun places are cool too- I think my parents are going to get him one to the zoo for his birthday.

All of that and blocks, legos, Mr Potato Head and a chest of costumes for dress up.

Three is a great age for Magnatiles:

And a personalized cape:

My DS got both of those around 3 and they still get use at 6.

My son is 5 and still loves Lego, play kitchen and his Marble run. Also, not sure how fond you are of electronic toys but he also still loves his digital camera (Vtech Kidizoom) and his trampoline (Kidactive).

That's funny, b/c I actually DO have one! Purple, sparkly, with an "E" on the back, adult sized! DS had a superhero-themed fourth bday party, so our whole family got them.

My dc have these, and they are even more gorgeous and cool in real life. If you do tv, my kids love the Super Friends on dvd, and they'd go well together.

Three is the perfect age for a balance bike.

My son loves the Alphabitz blocks http://parents-choice.org/product.cf...5236&StepNum=1 they are wooden shapes that put together make letters/numbers/shapes

He also adores Melanie Watt books: Chester, Chester's Back, Chester's Masterpiece, Scaredy Squirrel Series....

He also has quite a few Jump Start video games and He loves Pajama Sam (for the pc and the wii)

I picked up some great placemats too that are reusable with pencil: The Straight Edge line with telling time, weather, alphabet and number writing, basic math etc... http://www.straightedgeinc.com/

DS will be turning 3 in May and we are getting him a balance bike for his birthday. He loves to play outside and desperately wants to keep up with the older boys when they are riding bikes, so we thought that this would be the perfect gift.

Automoblox are fun. My kids (4 and 2) have the mini ones. You really need to have a few so you can mix and match the parts, so a 3 pack of mini ones is a great gift.

We got ds a small bike with training wheels for his 3rd birthday. I was worried he'd be a little young for it, but, he LOVES it! He's taught himself how to lean into turns, rides scarily fast, and will probably learn to ride without training wheels before his big sis!

My kiddo is almost 3. The gifts I'm hoping will be big hits are: A DVD of Clifford the Big Red Dog, a few paint-with-water books, and a toy that pumps the bathwater like a little showerhttp://www.amazon.com/Yookidoo-Flow-...d=IFUD1FG2E2N5.
