Gental discipline/parenting book recommendations?

Hi there, I would love some book suggestions. I am looking for something to pass on to my cousin. Her son, a very active 3 year old, has been acting out a lot, hitting, saying no, tantrums - a lot of common issues, but some much more concerning ones - he calls his mother and his great grandmother (which he and his mother live with at the moment) the 'B' and 'F' word etc. We all know problems run deep with his mother and father separated and bitterly angry at one another. We also know his father says horrible things about his mom, and that is where he is learning a lot of the 'language.' His father is very manipulative and I believe he has a potential to for much worse. That said, my cousin's son spends most of his time with his mom and great grandma. I would love to give my cousin empowering parenting literature with compassionate and creative advise. recommendations?

I really like How to Talk to Kids will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk. I think it's good for a beginner because aside from having some very informative text, it has a huge section of comic strip-style conversation examples, both of what to do and what not to do. It's easy to flip through and get some ideas of more peaceful and meaningful ways to interact with a child.
