I'm really early - not quite 8 weeks along - so I keep telling myself there's no way I'm *actually* feeling the baby move. When I'm resting, though, I feel all sorts of movements, quite a bit of fluttering, etc., in my lower abdomen and pelvic region. Some, I know, is just muscle twitches and whatever. I've had that since my first was born, so I know it's totally normal to feel baby-like movements that have nothing to do with a baby.

But, I am wondering now just how early anyone has confirmed that they've felt the baby move? This is my 4th, and I've certainly noticed it earlier with subsequent pregnancies. Maybe not THIS early, but who knows.

I was between 8 and 9 weeks when I started feeling this one move and its been confirmed several times over that its baby and not gas/muscle spasms/phantom kicks

last night I got one so bad that I could tell baby was doing a somersault (baby likes to do that it seems) and Im only 17 weeks... i think I felt the first flip around 13 weeks, but now its very obvious when its a flip.

I've been feeling all sorts of things for several weeks now but it's only in the last few days (about 13 weeks) that I think they are actually kicks. I still don't know for sure though.

With DS, I felt the first fluttery type movements around 15 weeks then nothing again until 17 weeks. It wasn't till 19-20 weeks that it was a daily event and that I knew for certain what it was.

with my last little one it was around 13-14 weeks.. im almost 10 weeks now and waiting impatiently! i have felt a few tiny bubbly bumpy things that don't feel like digestion or anything else, but i tell myself its too early to feel it really. i think its more feeling the baby's energy than the baby itself.
it really is incredible how quickly they grow into these little beings!

ETA: I wanted to double check. so I looked through posts from my last pregnancy (Jan 2008 DDC) I mentioned feeling my first movement around 13 weeks and by 14-15 weeks it was really regular/strong.. i honestly cant remember from my other two. i would have to dig out pregnancy journals and i have no idea where they are!

With my 3rd I was between 9 and 10 weeks when I felt him. The doctors kept telling me I couldn't possibly be feeling the baby, it was too soon, it was gas and I know it was. I'd had 3 before him and just knew, you know? Last night after hearing the babe's heartbeat for the first time I felt something but I'm not sure what it was exactly... could have been movement?? I'm 9 wks 4 days today.

I feel I should add that I did not feel movement that early with the other 3 pregnancies I had I think they were between 15 and 20 weeks.

for #1 I know I felt FOR SURE movement around 9 weeks though looking back I probably felt it sooner but didnt know what it was

for #2 I totally felt movement around 7-8 weeks. Its def different those early weeks. more like wisps or tickling if that makes sense but ya, Im an early feeler.

and dont let someone convince you that you can only feel it if your a skinny minny. Im not skinny I have some cushion and curves and Im still an early feeler.

oh and as a side note when i brought it up to my ob she didnt look at me like I was crazy. she said its totally possible.

I don't believe anyone before 12 weeks.

Just cant bring myself to do it. lol

Im used to people not believing me. After all its quite abnormal to feel your first at 14 weeks...

Even my mom and DF questioned me feeling them that early this time... but I know what Im feeling. Its my third baby... I can distinguish the difference between gas, muscle spasms, phantom kicks and real kicks (I do still get phantom kicks, rarely down that low they have always been up high)

This is my 4th pregnancy that's lasted past 10 weeks and the earliest I've ever felt movement was 14 wks. That was with DD and it was very subtle and sporadic. I'm 16 wks with this one now and think I've maybe felt something a few times, but I'm not even sure.

I think I started feeling little pokes at 15 weeks. I knew for sure what they were at 18. I don't remember when I started feeling DS.

Absolutely, definately but not consistently:
1st: 15 wks
2nd: 13 wks
3rd: 11 wks

I think I felt at 9 weeks this time and I knew exactly where my placenta was, but I got a gentle flicky kick at 11 weeks. I'm 12.5 weeks now and only felt definite movements three times since then. It will be a couple more weeks until it becomes common.

I felt my second at 8 weeks but I was so convinced it wasn't possible that I say 9 weeks. At 9 weeks, she flipped when the midwife put the doppler on. I felt it clearly and we heard it as well. It's possible, just unusual

I feel them early too. With my first it was 17 weeks, 2nd was 13 weeks and this one I'm pretty sure I was feeling movement at 11 weeks.
From what I've read the embryo doesn't even start to make movements until 9 weeks--he/she just doesn't have the muscles that make movement possible.

my first 16 wks, next three 12 weeks. my one anterior placenta was the most sparadic and less felt baby.

15 - 19 week for all pregnancys
I think with DS it was about 20 weeks.

With this pg it was at 14 weeks.

At 16 weeks with number 1 I confirmed I was feeling him. I had thought it was gas but after realizing it was different, I knew. I has felt it before that, but I dunno when, since I didn't realize what I was feeling.

With #2, I felt it for sure at 11 weeks, maybe a few days before. It was always on the left side, way down low. At 12 weeks, my first appt, they got the heartbeat right where I showed them he was. He stayed on that side the whole time. At 15 weeks, I was laying down and saw it on the outside and could feel it with my hand. DH saw it then too and felt it a few days later.

I believe I was 8w4d last time I felt the first tickle. And it was the tiniest flutter ever. It was a few days later that it got stronger and I knew for sure what I was feeling. I thought 8w was surely too early but my midwife asked before I even brought it up. I think I felt it at 10-11 wks with my first. Our twins were like 14 w because I had an anterior placenta.
