Can someone correct me if I'm wrong.....I seem to remember reading that the most goitrogenic part of greens, like spinach was in the stem and was in the fiber of the leaf. So....if I am juicing spinach in a masticating juicer....lets say enough spinach to produce a cup or 2 of juice....is that too much goitrogenically-speaking? Or am I avoiding most of the goit. stuff by just consuming the juice? I add a LOT of swiss chard, parsley, romaine lett.,celery etc...is this bad too?

Well, I had to look up goitrogenic foods!

I would be combating the goitrogenic nature of your greens and veg with avacado, coconut and healthy fats, as these aparently enhance thyroid function.

I am concerned about this too all of a sudden..
My dd drinks a green smoothie w spinach, avocado, coconut oil, brewers yeast, spirilina and oj almost everyday! Is that ok?? I had no idea about the goit. greens.

Eta- I googled the "G" word and got some answers. Doesn't seem to be a big deal, esp since we do the greens w fats like pp suggested. ...I'm okay now.
