Relief for congestion and chesty cough

Any suggestions for how to give my ds relief from a bad cold? He's had it for 6 days and it's lodged in his chest and he's really congested nasally. The pedi said his lungs are okay and to give him honey at night - what about in the day? Saline nasal spray just ain't cutting it (I'm no longer bfing).

Thanks

Turmeric is an expectorant, you can do 1/8t of it in 1/4t honey and give with frequency as needed.

I would try some homeopathic medicine. Hopefully your health food store has some. You can find his symptoms and match meds accordingly.

Also try
-steamy showers or playing in the bathroom w/ hot shower running
-lavender, tea tree, thyme, eucalyptus essential oils in humidifier or diffused on stove
-oregano oil rubbed into soles of feet
-chamomile tea
-cut out or drastically decrease any dairy he's eating right now

Our pedi. suggested the Triaminic (yellow bottle- I think it is cold chest/congestion). He said 1/4 tsp would be fine. Lots of water too.
