school districts that allow hsers to take classes (particularly Ohio, but any welcome)

Hi mamas - if you live in a district that allows home educated students to take classes in public school, could you please let me know where they are? I'm trying to gather some information about schools that allow this. Thanks very much!

Michigan allows for HS'ers to take non-essential classes at public schools (this would exclude history/government/civics/social studies, science, math & language arts.)

I'm in Ohio, my city allows hs'ers to take individual classes (dd1's gymnastics coach has a hs'ed dd that takes art, physics, and band at the high school) Also, I'm pretty sure that the ORC says that the local schools have to allow the hs'ed kids to take a class or two if they want to, the school I went to in HS had twin sisters who took a class and band, they were hs'ed.

I have a 7th grader that attends school for only core classes. She has high functioning autism and it's part of her 504 plan as the best way for her educational needs to be met.

Technically, our school allows kids to have a hybrid of homeschooling for some classes and going to school for others, but the school oversees the homeschooled classes, requires full paper work, assigns grades, etc. It's not the same as regular homeschooling.

In Vermont, homeschoolers are allowed to take some classes at their local public school, but those classes can't account for more than 40% of their schooling. As I understand it, schools can give preference to enrolled students when space is limited, but otherwise have to make all their classes and extracurricular activities available to homeschooled students.

well, it took me forever to get back her and respond but thanks to all the people who answered. Kittie, I'm 99% sure the Ohio home ed law gives districts the right to decide on this issue.  Could you PM me the name of the district where you are that multiple classes are allowed?  I'd like to speak with administrators/superintendents/school boards in those kinds of districts to learn how they decided to allow it and how the funding works.  I anticipate push back from our district but I want to propose this.
