best training pants

I've tried gerber training pants and don't like them, I'm looking for something absorbent but not to bulky. DS uses the potty during the day at home, I need training pants for night time and daytime when we go out, it's important for me that he feels when they are wet.
Which training pants would you recommend?

We have two types- JC Penny's brand (you may feel they are more like Gerber- cheaper $-solids and fit better)

and we also get at thrift stores- girls cover-lets(would go with dresses, to go over a diaper, yet thin and light weight) - they sell them part from the outfits- mismatched, many prints are for boys- stripes, animals, etc these are thin and nice when you get just beyond and not yet into real underpants, we do these because of the size, we trained prior to age 2

Subbing for more ideas... We're using Gerber (both the waterproof ones and the all-cotton). The all-cotton fit much better than the plastic pants do, so we use those as underwear and put the separate plastic pants on while out. Even though the plastic pants are huge, the ones without the padding fit well under clothes and keep them dry if there's an accident.

They're kind of pricey, but I absolutely love Antsy Pants (www.getantsy.com). They're just like disposable pull-ups, except that the kid can tell when they're wet, and it's reusable. They're vastly superior to all other cloth trainers I've seen. I use them full-time on my 15-month-old, and he's not even PLing yet! They're great for the standing diaper changes.

I have 5 pairs of Scotty Potty training pants these ones and we love them. They are absorbent enough to hold a good sized pee without making a puddle(still have to change pants) and they catch little leaks really well without having to change pants.

I use them when we go out and for naps. DS loves them and was upset when he got poo in a pair. He can pull them up and down pretty easily (he is still learning this skill) and they don't fall down. Plus the price is pretty good, I got mine on e-bay(new) for about $5 a pair incl shipping.

Butterfly mommy, the price for Scotty Potty is very reasonable, I think I'll give them a try. Did you try their night time trainers? DS is a heavy wetter, although I think he's peeing less at night since he started using the potty during the day.

Did anyone try Little Beetle Learners? They are soooo cute

For daytime errands I LOVE Tot Wraps stellar transitions. They will leak if there's a lot of pee in them but DS is at the point that he might pee a little before realizing and asking to go potty...and that is rare so they work really well for us. I wouldn't use them for nighttime but her Dream Trainer is stuffable and she recommends it for nighttime.

I haven't tried their night time trainers, only the padded training pants. I am thinking of getting a few pairs of nigh time trainers so if you do get those and use them please post how they worked.

I have some super undies, that I bought used but haven't used them yet as they are a bit big for DS. They are pretty bulky and they have a built in cover so I would use them at night. The mama I bought them from said they did well for her heavy wetter at night.

Oh and I recommend washing the training pants first before using them as they absorb better.

I like the Imse Vimse a lot. They contain poop super well, pee only somewhat, the fit is great and somehow the sizes last awhile. We've never had a poop blowout and the pee just takes out the pants at much. We started really quite early into pl'ing. Toddler likes the prints.

We don't use them at night though. DS stopped pee'ing at night way before we l'd BUT for nothing will contain his morning pee if it isn't caught by a toilet. An overnight disposable just vaguely helps.
