Umbilical hernia

Thread Starter
Any other babies with an umbilical hernia? DS has one, he's my first baby to have one, and I can't wait until it goes away. It's a good sized one, too, but reduces easily...though he's always squirming and grunting so it's almost always out. Can't wait until it goes away. I've tried explaining how common they are and how most go away on their own to my family (grandma especially) and am tired of having just ONE MORE thing for them to think I'm taking too lightly.

We're not dealing with that this time around, but iirc (gosh how time and details fly by!), dd3 had a bit of an issue with it... well, not an issue.. just had it going on for a while.. until of course I didn't notice it one day and had no clue when it healed/fixed itself.

Sorry you have to deal with oh-so-well-meaning relatives that have one more thing to comment on... ugh.. Having kids seems to make people think they have every right to offer unsolicited advice at any given moment on any given topic. Hope it heals soon and it becomes a non-issue!!!

Avery seems to have a mild one. Barely noticable, though... maybe b/c he's not an overly upset kid, but it does pop out when he cries...
