AIO's not absorbing

Thread Starter
I have Rocky Mtn. Diapers and Bumgenius and I'm having a problem with both kinds. They just don't seem to be absorbing my daughter's pee. It beads up on the surface and sometimes even leaks out the back. I prepped them according to the directions, but maybe I need to wash them some more? Thank you.

Are they brand new? What are they made of? If they are new they may not be prepped enough. If they are used or have been used for awhile they sound like there could be buildup causing them to repel. If that is the case a hot wash with a T of Dawn should do the trick, then rinse on HOT (if your washer doesn't have hot as a rinse option use a hot wash cycle with no soap) till you see no more suds then dry. If that still doesn't help try scrubbing each with dawn and a brush (tooth brush or the like) and rinse till no suds are seen.

If ya have anymore questions let us know. And welcome to MDC!

It sounds like the detergent your using is causing a build up. Or are you using a rash cream? That can also cause a build up. You will need to do as the poster said and strip them with Dawn.
